Fiat Pacem

Our most sincere well-wishes for continued safety to Silicon Graybeard, Borepatch, Divemedic, Big Country, Angus McThag, their families, and anyone else in the downrange vicinity of Ian these next few days. May they remain safe, dry, and well until it passes.

We're also hoping Sean Penn flies a helicopter right into the approaching eye, to see what help he might bring Cuba, but that's probably too much to ask for.

If that's too much, why not ask for more?
Bill and Hillary as his passengers would sure add to the list.

We are going to need a bigger helicopter.

Nope. They will blame Globull Warmism. And assault weapons. And systemic racism. And anti-infanticide Nazis.

According to m recruiter I talked with Monday, he has several people working in the Tampa region, and a few of them own Teslas. Rather than try to drive them out of the danger zone, they've made arrangements to shelter them inland and on higher ground, presumably with direct employee co-workers.
I suspect that Tesla stock will be dropping after Ian sends his regards; I'm resisting the temptation to go short on it now that my wife and I have closed one large account that is currently losing over $10K/week.
I hope that everyone in Ian's path makes it through this, but I don't think it will be that bad.

Yup, they've already jumped on the Goreball Warming boat-- Amy Klobitcher (MN) is using it in her campaign-- "(Re)select me and I'll stop the hurricanes and Goreball Warming..."

I have family that lived on Sanibel. They evac'd so they're OK. They have lost everything they had there. Their homes and one car are in the channel. Sanibel was wiped clean of mobile homes and most freestanding single family homes. The bridge that allowed access from the mainland is destroyed. Several people that stayed behind are missing and presumed dead. The Report that i got second hand indicted that Sanibel had 20 feet of water.
