By the same token, when good cops acting properly perform a community service arrest, and it turns out like this video, it warms the very cockles of our cold, green amphibious heart. Much like Beetlejuice watching The Exorcist, it keeps getting funnier every time we watch it.
Total time from initiation of felony stop "Go!" decision to resolution: fourteen seconds.
Incredibly, yet again, passing a law to stop felons from having guns didn't work. Color us shocked.
Important safety tip: Even an AR-15 isn't an instant one-shot stopper at muzzle range to the chest. Head shots are, but I'm sure their policy is center-of-mass "to stop". In our humble opinion, if police officers are pointing weapons at you, and instead of stopping, you run and draw a firearm, once that gun comes out, nothing says "Stop!" like a bullet to the brain. PSG, WSP. (Or alternatively, as the commenters on the video noted, a round of buckshot to the chest would have been très approprié.)
Kudos to the officer on the trigger for safely ending the situation, saving months of trial costs and years of prison upkeep for another waste of skin, and helping him to fully kick his oxygen addiction. If we had more of this, we'd have less of this.

Cameras on cops and in classrooms (plus many other government-funded institutions) is one of the better developments in recent years. Instead of state surveillance on normal people, everything the government says or does should be recorded, audio and video. It’s like having project veritas in every room.

Also, he was a HuWhite guy, so no hysterics on this one.

Hahahahaha. Love it. My kids heard me say, "Whoa, whoa, whoa . . . nice shootin' Tex" for years before they saw Ghostbusters.
First off the dog deserves a 8oz TBone steak. The dog tripping the perp up gave the officers the tactical advantage. I would be interested to know the intelligence that led to the officers waiting for the felon. Not a one off. That team knew he would be there.
Officer Woofy done real good. I don't know if the K9 trusted his team or just wasn't trainrd to question humans.
I am sort of surprised that Woofy didn't go for the free arm with the firearm. The armed officers took care of the problem, but that was close. A good warning about "tunnel vision".
Not sure why the perp parked where he did,(avoiding cameras?). If the police had engaged sooner, the dog would have been too far for backup. As it was, the team came together.
And always be alert. If a passel of police bail out of a vehicle or doorway, get down, preferably behind something that will catch stray bullets. In the video, customers "up front" (at gas pumps?) would have been at risk for stray shots. Stay Alert!

Another case where, like you said a nice 'slow moving' buckshot round would've been choice. Them ramped up 3200 fps 5.56mm just punched a couple of nice neat .22 holes in dude (granted cavitation, tissue death notwithstanding... being wound on adrenaline kept the perp from getting the message "hey asshole, you're dead!" right away) initially... looks like (all blurred out) that the follow-on shots were probably (if -I- was shewtin' the critter) in Ye Olde Brain Housing Container, where he got shut off like a bad lightbulb right then, and right there.
