Present Arms

Ignore Gropey Dopey and Kneepads the Twatwaffle, and use the day as it was intended.

Give no thought to how dark the days are now. Our turn may come, but when it does, we will join our fathers, in whose mighty company we need not be ashamed.

"He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of Hosts is with us."

Trying Aesop - although I have to say it has been a long time since I felt such active disdain from an administration for the war dead.

Indeed, let us hope to aspire to the measure of our fathers, in whose presence we may not be ashamed.

Two questions:
1) Is that Chesty Puller?
2) What is this "long weekend" thing? I went to work as usual. I was grumpy, but dammit I did my job- people need takin' care of.

One gripe:
Why, oh, why don't people effin' get it? I say something about honor and duty to my roomies and I get a blank look. Ugh. Let's institute mandatory military service. I did my time :-)

1) Yes. No one else could be so magnificently ugly.

2) Former Senator Kneepads. "Long Weekend." Check Google images.
Because apparently that's all this day was set aside for: barbecues and additional goofing off.

All my beloved men came home from their wars; but one is dying by inches from it and the other paid the final price last fall, in hell, thanks to the Branch Covidians.

Never forget.

Raising my flag back to full staff today. I thank all for your service and sacrifice. Special prayers for Uncle Benjamin and Brummett may they rest in peace.

An Aryan of the governarce/warrior caste has an obligation to the soceity that one chooses to live in. And in fact I'm glad I served.
