Pity It Doesn't Pay the Bills, But...

We weren't particularly interested at the time (evidenced by not noticing until now), but the odometer on our stat counter indicates we hit our 10,000,000th visit sometime late Monday. About 3 months since the last such rollover. It's about 250K/month now, which is a far cry from the single digits when we began, 12+ years ago. We expected neither the attention, nor the longevity. Huzzah. We hope that means we're hitting the mark more often than not.

Now that we are out of the single millions, we probably won't remark on it further until we hit multiples of ten.

To those who follow us, or link others here, our thanks for your visits, and best wishes to you in the trying times to come.

Congratulations Aesop!

(Yes, it is a shame it does not pay the bills. It is more fun than what does, at least in my case.)

Please give credit where credit is due. Yes, you've been a solid and consistent source of info over these years, but the CDC should get most of the credit.

First, they brought Ebola to the states, which brought eyeballs to Raconteur Report. But being the pros that they were, there was nothing to be worried about. (Until those nurses started bleeding from the eyes...)

Then, as if they couldn't top their Ebola stunt, they've taken the lead on the Chinese bioweapon pandemic and then, even more badder, the subsequent "vaccine" rollout. As a lifelong Cubs fan, I have only seen failure at this level one other time...

All serious: congrats on the hits and thanks for keeping us informed.

Congrats Man! My first Mil was a HUUUGE milestone but that's dwarfed by the Double Digit!

Congratulations, Aesop!
Thank you for the years of laughter, education, and an occasional disagreement.
Keep it up, Sir.

The old saying goes "The pen is mightier than the sword". The latter can coerce and/or behead. The former can instil ideas, concepts, morals, ethics, values, memes, information, et cetera: in other words - ejumakayshun! And the components of ejumakayshun can be quite infectious and are thus much feared by authoritarians who make desperate efforts to stomp it out by all means available, including three-letter agencies, branding it as "misinformation" and "incitement to violence/crime" and whatever.

While it does not pay the bills, the cost to those who choose an adversarial stance is incalculable.
