Some of my family used pot back in the day. Unlike their friends, They were at least high functioning and focused. Had a boss like that as well.

Those are the exceptions the legal weed crowd uses as examples that weed is no big deal.

The examples I'd use are my sister's friends. They live for the weekend and getting stoned.

How else would you explain a dude who's been working in a warehouse until his 50s, or another that will tell you all about his "Business", which is planting real estate signs. When my brother in law died, I was shocked to see this crowd, many of which I'd known since high school (I moved out of the area). They were all low fifties, but looked 65 and in bad shape. And you're right, it's never only one thing. With them it was pot, booze, cigarettes. All an age accelerator.

We were up visiting family in Colorado, and went to Manitou Springs for the day. Cute town. Except for the park near the weed shop where all the ne'r do wells hung out getting stoned.
Yeah. That's good for tourism. Never seen such a large group of shabby looking wypipo since the hippy days of the late 60s.

Regards the Illinois shooter, the police are called to his house because he is suicidal. After a period of time, police are called to his house because he is threatening to kill all his family. Then, after another period of time, his father signs for him to obtain an Illinois Firearms ID! WTF? I'm sure if he had been a vet of spicy times in SEA or a couple of tours in SWA that ol' RED Flag Law would have picked right up on that. And who can say what kind of mood/mind altering drugs he was on for his previous behaviour. Only HIPPA knows!

The father should be charged for criminal accessory before the fact and facilitation on multiple counts of murder and attempted murder.

Law Enforcement and the Courts ignoring Mental Health Issues is a huge problem. It usually takes multiple crimes like rape and murder for the "Criminal Justice" industry to do anything. This opioid seeking looney tune threatened a doctor and clinic, was arrested and let go. Two years later he came back with pipe bombs and a gun. Amazingly only 1 person died.

Same experience in Manitou springs - was meeting a friend for dinner and walked by that same park as Techie. Was like, WTF, in Alabama, they’d have all been arrested, but here there were 30ish, all stoned, all with shopping carts hanging under the pavilion. Not a single non bum in that park, but tons of people walking elsewhere. Colorado Springs, same thing, lots of maybe homeless and clearly on drug types walking around. Dispensaries everywhere, don’t recall a liquor store anywhere, but they may have laws about those. Sad, sad, sad to see society promote destructive behaviors and call it a good thing. The political class hates us all, it’s good to have reminders every now and again. If this crap tries to happen in Alabama, I have stories to tell.
