A Visit From St. Nicholas

The post title is the original one of probably the best-known poem in American history. You know it by the following title:

And more than its equal in prose, the best-known and most beloved work of Dickens' entire life, done best by George C. Scott at the height of his powers, and with a stellar supporting cast, here in its entirety (with a couple of interludes):

"It was said of Ebenezer Scrooge that he knew how to keep Christmas well, if any man alive possessed the knowledge."

I'm torn between the George C. Scott and Patrick Stewart versions as to which is better. Although I love both and would watch either.

I like Patrick, and his version, but George nailed this.

Actually, my favorite version is The Muppet Christmas Carol. Which probably says a lot about me as a person.

Happy Christmas, Aesop.

Merry Christmas brother, to you and yours, and all who visit here. Except the Feds and the fucktards, of course.

I may get yelled at for saying this, but "The Muppet Christmas Carol" with Michael Caine will always be my favorite of all the versions, and no, I don't feel ashamed in saying that.

Regardless, Merry Christmas to all.

I concurr 100% with Aesop’s ranking of George C. Scott’s magnificent interpretation of A Christmas Carol. By far the best IMHO. In fact I’m about to pop it in the dvd and get myself in the Christmas spirit. Merry Christmas all.

Damn....I'm so old, I remember the "Mr. Magoo" (cartoon) version as a little kid...it was burned into my memory and imprinted.

...the great film versions have become..overlaps of the same
