Scoreboard

Go read Mr. Garibaldi. Learn things.

Granted, the word "Yet" could be appended to anything or everything noted.

But at least it isn't sheer naked gainsaying from the Putard nor pro-Uke side, something far too lacking from much commentary for the last year, especially the peanut gallery contingent.

War is a messy business, and it's seldom over as quickly or easily as anyone, particularly the combatants, would wish were the case.

From ISW February 27:
A Ukrainian source confirmed that the 155th Naval Infantry Brigade has suffered continually catastrophic losses in assaults on Vuhledar. The Ukrainian Resistance Center cited a prisoner-of-war interview with a 155th Naval Infantry Brigade infantryman who claimed that the brigade lost 6,800 people during the year (even though the brigade has a total complement of 1,200). The infantryman stated that the brigade has undergone seven or eight reformations and received recruits from volunteers, mobilized, convicts, and Pacific Fleet sailors who were removed from ships.

Isn't this the Russian unit that keep running into the same damn minefield?

ISW also talks about the changes in Russian Units and tactics from Battalion Tactical Groups to something smaller and using T-72 Armor as direct support fires from BEHIND the attack. They also say Russia is shifting to "Platoon" attacks of 12-15 infantrymen. Russian Tactics Keyword: Attrition. Think "Lambs to the Slaughter."

Some of the commentary he counterpoints is idiocy. He puts up with idiots better than I do!
I freely admit I was wrong in believing Russia wouldn't actually invade; I massively underestimated their government's self deception. I also underestimated Western support for Ukraine... Good thing this isn't my day job!

Of late the talk of providing F16s is afoot. My question is for what? The RU air force appears to be marginal in engagements since UA air is husbanding resources. That and you don't just say 'fly this' and be effective. As far as I know no UA pilots have received training on the craft.

I would also offer you the take of one of our better Navalists in terms of ACTUAKL lesssone we SHOULD have learned here.

Sal is right more than he is wrong on a LOT of "schtuff".

I'm retired military, with a stent in MI. Yes, I have over 30 years military experience.

The reason Ukraine hasn't totally collapsed is that the talmud, yes the one demanding more from the Pentagon, is willing to sacrifice every Christian man, woman, and child living in Ukraine.

It won't be long before he evacuates to Israel (where he has a home and where his father lives), then goes to his home just north of Miami.

Pretty sure everyone living in Ukraine is pretty much down with fighting the Russians to the last stick and stone, giving them the finger before they're bayonetted, and spitting their last blood-flecked breath at them before they die.

And still would if Z. flew the coop tomorrow with $100 bills bulging from his stuffed pockets.

It's almost like the people of Ukraine have centuries of experience with Russian occupation & tyranny and would rather die on their feet than grovel on their knees!

Agreed that Ukraine would not completely stop fighting if Zelenskyy and the Uke Oligarchs that run the country fled tomorrow, but the sudden power vacuum would be demoralizing. Worse, it definitely would invigorate Putin and the Russian Expansionists which are not seeing any major success at this time.

Excellent link. I hate to make predictions about the endgame, but it is coming. Negotiated peace is the norm, but that seems so far away, especially since you're right - the Ukrainians will fight to the end.

Almost half (or more) of those living Ukraine identify as Rus, those with Russian ancestors. They speak Russian and are Christians of the Russian Orthodox Church. The Rothschild boi, or the Rothschild boi before him, have been randomly shelling the eastern 35% of the territory Ukraine illegitimately claims since 2014. In fact Zelinskii has forced closure of most Russian Orthodox Churches and jailed their priests.

"And still would if Z. flew the coop tomorrow with $100 bills bulging from his stuffed pockets." Nope.

The Bolsheviks who forced starvation on Ukraine were not Russians, 85% were of the same tribe as Zelensdkyy. That's readily available history. The late Aleksandr Isayevich Solzhenitsyn wrote about who the Bolsheviks were extensively.

As I've explained, the history of the region is very complicated.

The shelling has been anything but random, and the territory was illegally occupied by Russian Army airborne and Spetsnaz troops dressed as civilians since that year.

When you send your army into someone else's sovereign nation, you risk getting shelled by them. Pisser for them.

And the Russian Orthodox Church has long been a conduit and facilitator of Russian espionage efforts throughout Ukraine all along.
Double pisser for them.

Meanwhile, copious Christian missionaries not from Russia operate in Ukraine, and have for decades. I know, because I've met them in person, and supported their work.

Part of the reason for Z.'s election was because as a Jew, he obviously isn't a Russian Orthodox FSB mole. The fact that he's not Putin's paid-for dancing bitch, unlike every predecessor since independence, is the actual sore spot in this entire effort, and the reason Pootie has such a dose of the ass with him. Russia was fine with Ukraine as long as they had a huge say in the government there. Then in 2014, they invaded three times, as their puppets were being popularly rejected and opposed. The rest is and has always been, pure pretext.

Putin's yes-men at home didn't reckon Ukrainian hatred of Russian interference was anywhere near as strong as events have proven. And most ethnic Russians in Ukraine either fled back to Russia when the war broke out, but the overwhelming majority turned on Putin the minute Russia invaded. Turns out even Russians don't like living under Putin's thumb. Who knew...?

I've formulated something I like to call "Zelinski's Law". Whenever someone online begins to defend Putin, they will inevitably go into an anti-Semitic rant.

And Anti-Semitism is the indelible mark of Satan. Notice how every evil inevitably shouts their hatred of the Jooooos- from Stalin to Islamic Extremist to Hitler to modern Communist China?
