A friend of mine sought Jimmy out in Key West a couple of decades ago, managed to meet him, and they had a pleasant conversation. He said Jimmy was the same guy IRL as onstage. And they enjoyed...well, listen to the song.
Passed away yesterday, aged 76, at home, peacefully, surrounded by family. Thanks for the tunes, dude.

I met Buffet when he was starting his career doing the college circuit back in the day. Great times, was a small crowd, did not even have a set to play, just took requests from the crowd and jammed for 3hrs straight. A loss indeed.
Who says you can't party for a career?
Whether Mr. Buffet made it to Heaven, Hell, or somewhere in between, I hope he's finally found his lost shaker of salt.
