Sunday Music: Don't Look Back

Monster #4 Hot 100 hit, the first track masterpiece on Boston's second album, (which sounded a bit too like their first album), but both of which still sounded different from anything anyone else had ever heard. And still does. If you can't get into this one, you've never heard it, or else I don't know you. Maybe both.

Even I, the true not-a-fan-of-contemporary-music, remember that one.

On a sadder note, hearkening back to a Sunday Music post of yours from a few months ago, I came across this item this morning:

Another nightingale silenced. RIP.

1978 was a great year for me, I was a sophomore in college and was a partying fool back then.

I remember the anticipation as this came out as I was preparing to head out to college, and being slightly disappointed due to all the hype based on their first album.

Not that it was bad, glad I bought it, just didn't have the feel of discovery as the first album did (as you grow older you learn to manage expectations).

The original Boston along with The Grand Illusion were a significant part of my high school sound track.

Come to think of it, the slight sense of disappointment with Don't Look Back parallels my college experience as well, not bad, but did not live up to the hype.

Another fine selection from the Aesop Archives. Thanks

Biggest problem with Boston is that they didn't leave us more.
