OT + Bonus?

As hospital manglement tries to stuff 10 pounds of shit into a five pound bag, and then wants to pay for it at half price, I'm picking up a lot of OT. Posting is consequently going to be light for a few days. The world seems to be running on SSDD-Mode anyways, so I'm not missing much.

And the decision tree for "Double-rate + bonus" vs. "sitting around the house for free" is fairly short.

Wander as ye will, harden your living situation, and your hearts, as necessary.

These are the Good Old Days.

Just imagine what 2022 You would have told 2019 You, if travel back in time only that far were possible.

If anyone is wondering, this is with normal realities. COVID has ceased to be any sort of a thing since before New Years'. Remember that as boosterphobia and more Covidiocy kicks in.

Just a quick observation.....YMMV. A friend of mine used to be CEO of a local nursing home. Because of his involvement in local charities and such; the local hospital asked him to be on their board of directors.
Boy howdy!!! He was aghast at how much money that hospital had in reserves. He stated that his nursing home ran on a bare bones budget; due to the myriad ways that residents paid for that service. He was upset with how much money the hospital made but they continued to complain about their "expenses". He was not impressed.
Moral of story; when you have upper level management (the "c" suite") making six figure salaries; they can afford to pay double time + extra.

As for those galley slaves...
"We've got some good news and some bad news.
The good news is there will be steak and lobster for supper...

The bad news is -- the Captain wants to waterski"

Double+, nice, most I can get is time and a half. With the multiple "infrastructure" bills they passed to print trillions enough of it is actually going toward infrastructure that we'll be overloaded for the next 5 to ten years. Once the ice melts and things kick off I'm expecting 80+ hour weeks. Tiring but the bank account likes it and I have a house to redo.

By all means, hit that iron while it is hot - make as much as you can...and buy more food and other preps with it.

Everyone should do this btw, if they have the option to work more hours. Hell, even getting a 2nd job would accomplish the same goal. Dementia Joe and his puppet masters are royally f'ing up this country's future, starting with the economy, extending to the coming food shortages, and possibly ending with a war with the Russians and/or Chinese and/or Iranians.

We all have choices...and sitting around doing nothing about the frankly dismal future that the Left has been busily constructing for us is in my humble opinion not a good choice.

When I was younger I could work double shifts several times a week in my job as a fingerprint tech in a jail. 3 to 11 then 11-7 am. Doubled my salary one year. Those were the days. I'd never be able to handle the stress today.

This made me laugh:

Also: "In his latest 79-dimensional chess move, Putin has successfully lost his flagship to a country without a navy"

This is really, really amazing stuff. World-changing stuff. Yeah, yeah, aztecs swarming the border, inflation through the roof, I know, I've been screaming about that sort of thing for twenty years, and I knew the inflation was coming two years ago with the covid stuff. But as a kid who remembers the 1980s, I did NOT see "Russian military ties its own shoelaces together and falls face-first into the duck pond while laugh track plays in background" coming, at all, ever.

Aesop, it is hard to argue with such advice given the state of the world. I have actually been contemplating a second part time job at the local grocery store chain one of my daughters works at, not only for the cash but for the fact that working at such a place in an age of increasing prices and decreasing abundance would not be a bad idea.

What January 2020 self has told my current self is "You should probably invest that in something useful rather than spending that money. No, all of it."

The Moskva is an Earth Defense Force battleship like the Yamato. She's just submerged to charge the Wave Motion Gun.
