They went from the "Gates of Kiev," to building fortifications and beach obstacles to protect Crimea.

This is the price that morons like you pay when you Fock around and find out, nurse. Your proxies are dead. He’s inviting you Americans to die next. It’s all on morons like you and Joe Biden, General.

Make your mistake!🖕😂

As usual for you, Shit For Brains, you missed the point: the "price" being paid is 100,000 dead and wounded Russian soldiers.
Ukraine's not asking for volunteers.
Just ammunition.
They should be given all they can shoot.

Get a compass, and shoot a 180° back azimuth, and pull your head out of your ass.
It's not like it isn't the twentieth time you've been wrong this week, so there's no shame in admitting what everyone else knows.

Hurry, Vlad!

The Ukkies are running out of targets.

Glad I ain't there. The Farm Boys are doing pretty good for a pick up team, with a few "Ringers". Digging Team Turnip out of the hole will be a real fun game.

Aesop said...

It doesn't look fun for either team, but the Russians are doing a really good impression of the Zimbabwean special forces.

I recently attended a large mid-western gun show, and there was a table being run by a group supporting the Ukes. They were emphatic that they don't want American troops or volunteers, just money and some specialized skills, working from the states.
Unfortunately, because of my still active clearance, I can't do any work for them, but I did leave a generous donation for them. Unlike too many loudmouth American and Canadian bloggers, these people are walking the walk, even if their leaders are as corrupt as ours.

The one thing that has surprised me is the duration of the Russian bombardment; it has lasted much longer than I thought it would. I know a few US analysts that are tearing out their little remaining hair trying to ascertain where the Russians are getting the additional weapons.
I joked with one of them that perhaps our defense contractors are playing both sides of the street, as was the case when I worked for a US military vehicle manufacturer some years back. He sighed and said that nothing these days would surprise him.

One thing to remember about the Soviets is that every manufacturing plant was an armaments plant.
If the name was 'Tractor Factory #SSDD', all that meant was that the plant happened to also have a line that produced tractors.

Aesop said...

The other thing to remember is that the Soviet system died 31 years ago, and that plan is no longer operative.
And 99% of everything Russia makes is shit, because there's no incentive for getting it right, nor for rocking the boat by whistleblowing when it's crap.

"100,000 dead and wounded Russian soldiers."

What is your source for that?

Aesop said...

The military intelligence of the U.S., plus every other nation in Europe except Switzerland and Austria.

Based on Russian performance to date, I suspect that's low-balling the disaster with over-conservative estimates.

Remember how it was the Leftist who looked at an obviously failed Communist system and said "that's just what we need here!"?

Now it's the Alt-Right who looks at the obvious failure of a Communist and wants to do the same thing.

@Joe

And given their masterbatory obsession with a certain German socialist worker’s party, that’s just one more reason to call them the “Alt-Left.” They’re not right-wing, just the wussy left.

LOL, *this* is your source for casualty's ?
https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/more-than-100000-russian-military-casualties-ukraine-top-us-general-2022-11-10/

"WASHINGTON, Nov 9 (Reuters) - America's top general estimated on Wednesday that Russia's military had seen more than 100,000 of its soldiers killed and wounded in Ukraine, and added Kyiv's armed forces "probably" suffered a similar level of casualties in the war.

The estimates could not be independently confirmed by Reuters."

"estimate" and the article itself puts the word "probably" in quotes.

Great source. The same Pentagon that left enough weapons in Afghanistan to rearm the Mujahadeen, err, I mean Taliban BECAUSE they estimated it would take them months to get to Kabul.

Point 2, your own source says the Ukrainians suffered the same amount of casualties.
Russia has more bodies to throw in than the Ukes do.

Aesop said...

If you have access to any more authoritative sources, link to them, or shaddup.
Russia is getting nothing in return for its casualties except filled caskets.
Ukraine is getting their country back from Russia for the same price.
You work out for yourself which is the better deal.

And then work out how long, if pushed to it, it will take the Ukes to start reprocessing nuclear materials and re-entering the nuclear club, to give Moscow something else to think over.

(If you're naive enough to think this hasn't already become a thing under discussion, months ago, somewhere deep underground near Kiev - and in 40 other national capitols - I've got a bridge for sale, cheap.)

But exactly that sort of short-sighted "I can do this all day" thinking is what makes Putin a tactical and strategic amateur, and a professional idiot. Not to mention a terrorist ghoul.

Nope. 20% of Ukraine is still in Russian hands. In fact, Russia has declared it is part of Russia now.

Here's a MAP for you. Ukrainian sourced even!
https://liveuamap.com/

(if you are *that* naive to believe that Zelensky the actor is in charge of ANYTHING in Ukraine....The CIA thanks you for being an unpaid schill.)

Aesop said...

Russia controlled most of that 20% before the war broke out. Now it's all rubble. So they've spent 100,000+ lives for maybe 1-5%, and 100% of it's all blown to hell. They've lost more territory in the last 90 days than they gained in the first 180.
Such a deal.

I haven't said anything about who's in charge, and couldn't care less.

The people of Ukraine are kicking Russia's ass at 10:1 odds, and pushing them back to the pre-war border.

The Russian army has been advancing on Moscow, steadily, for months now.
And they're spending literally thousands of lives of conscript cannon fodder to continually not win around Bakhmut.

Nobody has seen anything as futile as the Russians' foolish attempts since the Somme.
