This Is What Passes For Russian Fair-Mindedness

Moscow is calling for the return of its historic settlements in Alaska and California, demanding the US hand over the former settlements, as Russia continues displaying signs of increasing bullishness regarding the prospect of total victory in Ukraine.

member of Putin's parliament in Moscow outlined the plan for reclaiming the settlements in Alaska and California, claiming they will be due after the “demilitarization” of Ukraine is complete.

Moscow’s TV pundits and show hosts have also begun endorsing the idea of publicly hanging Ukrainians who are standing against Russia — something the Kremlin has reportedly already mulled.

Those of you out there still slurping chocolate yogurt straight from the tap in Putin's ass, feel free to explain how reasonable this sounds to you, and why we should give it a fair hearing, in Comments.

Then explain to the class how we are the ones seeking to escalate this conflict.

Meanwhile, things are going so well for Russia, Putin reportedly did a mass 1000-person replacement of his personal staff, and now uses food tasters for all his meals.

But of course, no one would ever poison a Russian leader.

It's a grand distraction. It makes me wonder what type of nefarious activities are going on in the background.

Does this Mainstream Media rate well on your Pinocchio Rating Aesop?

Curious indeed.

And Fox News.
And the Daily Mail.
And the Independent.
And the Santa Rosa Press Democrat.

The entire interview was broadcast on Russian TV, FFS. Break suction.

I get that you don't want it to be true that it happened, but yelling at the hurricane only gets you so far.

Fox News and the Daily Mail? All pristine honest mass media.

No Pinocchio's there. Amazing Aesop, are you celebrating St Paddys day and posting, Sir?

Oleg Anatol'evich Matveychev (Russian: Олег Анатольевич Матвейчев, born 1 February 1970) is a Russian politician, political consultant and spin doctor for the Kremlin.[1] He is currently a professor at Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation in Moscow. Matveychev has published various books on politics and public relations.[2] He is one of the most popular Russian bloggers.[3]

In 2010, according to the Guardian newspaper, Matveychev caused controversy by writing on his blog that "he dreamed of gathering the Russian opposition on a city square and calling in an army of tanks to mow them down. 'And then, like after Tiananmen in China, we would also have 10% annual economic growth after 20 or 30 years'".[1]

Matveychev is an opponent of copyright. He was involved in at least two plagiarism scandals, where Matveychev was the one whose writings were plagiarized, once by Anna Chapman, and a second time by the Russian Minister of Culture Vladimir Medinsky in his book "Myths about Russia", particularly in the chapter about "unwashed Europe" and "clean Russia". Matveychev had announced that he is not going to pursue any action as the copyright impedes innovation and "behind every thought or object is every human being who ever lived".[7][8]

Matveychev is an author of alternative theory about ending of Trojan War, with the Trojans as winners.[9]

Additionally, Matveychev was behind the idea to change a name of a real person to Harry Potter to participate in Yekaterinburg regional elections

A Popular Russian Blogger a spin doctor and as I said before the Russian version of OUR Lindsay Grahm.

But hey your right, Russian information can get out from the media blackout. At least the inflammatory stuff :-)

I can pull up plenty of links of his colorful and storied life if you like.

On the Alaska thing, i'm more wondering if its less of an actual goal and more of the kremlin using a proxy to stir shit up. I could see either being true.

Well, if Alaska became Russian territory, we could get more oil from there, as it wouldn't fall under the Biden 'no new wells' mandate. As long as 'the big guy' got his 10%, that is.

Michael,

It was a real interview, televised and everything. If you're claiming it didn't happen, you're simply being a moron. There's no nice way to say that.

As to how serious it is? I figure he's just another drunken Russian Useful Idiot, shooting off his mouth after a breakfast of vodka and vodka. It's comedy relief, not reality, but it sure brought out all the Usual Suspects to gargle Putin's junk again. The reflex is absolutely Pavlovian. How appropriate.

Matveychev is Russia's version of Maxine Waters with a dash of Al Sharpton. Quote him at risk of what credibility remains.

You do realize that it's possible to think the USG is lying without believing every word from Russia, right? That it is possible to think all governments lie when it suits them?

Quoting a member of the Russian parliament risks no credibility, but denying obvious truth does, compounded by having Putin's balls slapping on one's chin reflexively.
Of course the idiot on TV was being a vodka-sodden bloviating assclown, but he draws out Russian fanboys like shit draws flies.

Of course governments lie when it suits them.

So turn that around, and tell us who's lying here?

As far as one can see, what's chapping people's asses is that the US is telling the truth to suit them, and it's proving inconvenient to Putin's cadre of ass-kissers at home and abroad. They're all scorchingly butthurt that most of the world chooses to believe its own lying eyes, instead of swallowing propaganda from Russian spindoctors.

Time to pay the piper.
