Sunday Music: Voices Carry

1980s one hit wonder 'Til Tuesday scored their one bite at the apple of fame with this 1985 single, which peaked at #8, and had enough pull to get their debut album to go gold.

Thanks! Hadn't thought about that one in years!

The singer did backup vocals on Rush's Time Stand Still from the Hold Your Fire album in the mid '80s too. That's about it.

Excellent song.
Have you seen Kate Hudson's cover in 2024?

They got there start up in Massachusetts and used to play some of the clubs around Fort Devon’s back in the day.

Aimee Mann (lead singer) is still active as a solo artist. I saw Til Tuesday open for Rick Springfield in 1985, love her voice. She does the solo folk singer/songwriter thing these days.

A couple of years ago I remembered this band/song and looked them up on youtube. I then found their other great song, Coming Up Close (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wtOgwFzhlyw), which I'm now addicted to. 'Don't you know that I can make a dream that's barely half awake come true' is one of the best lines ever. Big Otis is right, Aimee Mann is still writing and has earned several awards recognizing her talent.
