Sunday Music: Number One

Today's pick comes to you from prolific no-hit wonder Chaz Jankel, courtesy of the soundtrack to 1985's Real Genius. Totally 80s.

Hmm first time I ever heard it. Or if I did it. faded to the background of generic 80s music.

In most of 85 I was limited to what the Armed Forces Korea Network was broadcasting and the might/or might not be legitimate overseas versions of vinyl album releases down in the Ville.

Never saw Real Genius either. It was in that gap between when they quit playing it even in the $1.00 movie theaters in the states, but had not arrived in country through AAFES theaters before I returned to CONUS.

A lot of those movies (and TV shows) that I occasionally discover, some were even worthwhile.

Real Genius is another one I missed in the theaters (back when Hollywood was pumping out 10-20 movies/week). Then discovered later on through the miracles of Beta and VHS.

It's on par with Kilmer's other early effort, Top Secret
As in get it, watch it, enjoy it. It's quite the little gem.

My wife loves Real Genius and we both love Top Secret. Good times.

Sounds like they punched it up for the movie. Great flick.
