Sunday Music: Life In The Fast Lane

Third single from 26x platinum album Hotel California (1976), which peaked at #11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in '77. The late '70s in a nutshell, and the song was spawned by new guy Joe Walsh's guitar pre-game practice riff, which opens the song.

Joe Walsh is incredible and was a great addition to the Eagles.

Joe Walsh is an amazing guitarist, no doubt. The band he was a part of, was not the band I really liked; I'll always be a fan of the Bernie Leadon Eagles.

Zelensky posted the following (english translation cribbed from various sources) to his Telegram account, in response to the Russian missile strikes on city power plants. If I'm going to remember September 11 for something, I think I'd rather remember it for this man and these words:

Even through the impenetrable darkness, Ukraine and the civilized world clearly see these terrorist acts. Deliberate and cynical missile strikes on civilian critical infrastructure. No military facilities. Kharkiv and Donetsk regions were cut off. In Zaporizhia, Dnipropetrovsk, and Sumy there are partial problems with power supply.

Do you still think that we are "one people"? Do you still think that you can scare us, break us, force us to make concessions? Don't you really get it? Don't you understand who we are, what we stand for, what we are all about?

Read my lips:
Without gas or without you? Without you.
Without light or without you? Without you.
Without water or without you? Without you.
Without food or without you? Without you.

Cold, hunger, darkness and thirst are not as frightening and deadly for us as your "friendship and brotherhood". But history will put everything in its place. And we will be with gas, light, water, and food ... and WITHOUT you!
