I read every comment posted here. (Yes Trolls, even your screeds that I sh*t-can.) Some mornings and some comments make everything worthwhile. This is one of them.

@aesopBut wait, there's more:
Thank you for recognizing our work to create the muster here in Bedford County. Yes, there are many of us that read your blog. Like you said, it didn't take much to be honest. Just a close knit group of guys that have had enough. We have been lobbying at Lobby day for years now, went to the rally, sent our emails, made our phone calls and we have been training with a more quiet and smaller group for years now.
We decided it was time to make this happen. We put out the flyer which was a copy of the Floyd County muster flyer (which happened back in Jan), and then started posting it in every convenience store, fire station, YMCA, etc we could post it. Called the news media and sent them the flyer, told them what was going on, etc. Some of our team met with the Sheriff and his team and he was very supportive and glad to see we were organized, had thought through everything and he saw no reason for him nor any of his deputies to attend after he learned of our intentions and why we were calling it.
With that, we borrowed a PA system, had some signs made to place in the roads to direct people, found more volunteers, created our muster cards, had hats made for sale, and made it happen. Again, the work of a dozen focused men to create this and then about 25 of us (men and ladies) on the day.
Now what? Now, we go to the Board of Supervisors and make this an official militia so there is legal weight to it. We have training scheduled for the next two months already, we have emails and info regarding next steps ready to go, we are looking for more trainers and land to train on. We are meeting with the Sheriff again and keeping a dialogue open.
We are also organizing the Campbell County Muster as well (adjacent to Bedford County) and hoping for the same turn out.
#wewillnotcomply
Wes Gardner (Yes the one in Va) said...That's an embarrassment of riches.Thank you for covering our event in Bedford.
We are currently involved with groups putting together militia efforts in the following counties as well:
Bland
Campbell
Botetourt
Dinwiddie
Amherst
Pittsylvania
And a few others in the early startup stages.
We are sending a very clear message to Richmond and the rest of the country that we will not stand by idly as our God given rights are trampled on.
Also, you hit the nail on the head! We are going to be a mobilized force that can work diligently to put forth strong candidates that will truly represent the commonwealth.
These forts will help to ensure that Virginia remains a great place to raise a family, start a business, feel safe from crime, experience the birthright of freedom that was born here.
We will continue forth and carryon the fight.
God bless you
And
God bless America
Like we've been telling you, small groups of committed individuals change the world: they're the only thing that ever has.
22,000 people once is a mob photo op.
500 guys in one county, who have guns, won't comply, and train together month after month is a battalion.
Learn the difference.
And in 90 counties? That's an army of freedom.
Before whom tyrants (even elected ones, like Gov. Blackface Babykiller) tremble.
Best Wishes to the fine folks in Bedford County doing this, and kudos to them for doing the same thing in the counties next door. And so on. And so on.
You go, patriots.
LOCAL, LOCAL, LOCAL.

Very cool. These are smart people showing the way forward for the rest of the country. Everyone should take heed.
It is a very good thing indeed to find that there are men and women in this country who still have the courage to stand up for themselves, for their posterity and for their people. Kudos to all involved and may God watch over and guide you. You are providing an excellent example for the rest of us and, I am hoping, will be emulated all across the country.
This makes me want to move to that county.
If the fine patriots who put this together are reading this, I have two questions:
1) What was the conversation like with the Sheriff? Key points addressed, etc?
2) What does your training schedule look like? Are you going to post it somewhere?
Thanks for being faithful!
What can be imagined if this went viral and most counties start a Militia and state they will not comply and be a force multiplier for a Constitutional Minded Sheriff. Battalions and Brigades will strike a fear into those who celebrate tyranny and leftism.
One can but hope, Cederq. And I echo Vogg-Guy:
Share as much info as you can about what's working, as widely as you can.
49 other states will be watching this, with keen interest.
You should check out https://virginia113.com/
The same folks who showed up in battle rattle on 20 Jan are responsible for this as well.
My only quibble is that they stipulate an upper age limit of 55 years of age. I hope they will allow some flexibility based on individual considerations, as I feel that age limit is a bit arbitrary.
I am reminded of Samuel Wittemore, who was at Lexington and Concord when the first American boogaloo kicked off. He was 80 years old at the time, and it is said he dispatched three British soldiers before he himself was shot in the face, bayoneted multiple times, and left for dead. But he did not die, and instead lived to the ripe old age of 98.
I am now in my 60's, and while I don't claim to be a modern day Samuel Wittemore, I can still out hike, out ruck, and out shoot most men half my age. As former USMC like Aesop, I am well aware that war is a young man's game. At the same time, it would be good if exceptions could be made for the occasional old-timer who can still, literally, walk the walk.
George True, you sound like you've been to an Appleseed! If you didn't teach, you probably could have... Huzzah!
This is by far the best thing I've read today. I want to add in my well-wishes to the patriots of Bedford County (and others). Other states are definitely watching and cheering you all on. Take back VA from the locusts.
Congratulations to Bedford County, and pretty cool.
I suggested in Bracken's Buffalo Jump article that this is the direction that things should go - if we were ever to regain our freedoms and keep the commies in check.
Now it's happening.
Let's hope it spreads.
The natives are getting restless:

I'll echo George True's sentiments; the criteria should be performance- rather than age-based. I live in one of the "fittest" places in the country and we have plenty of folks in their 60's and 70's who can hang tough. No, none of us are as" good as we once were, but we're as good once."..(sorry Toby).

The essence of American Spirit. Ohio Guy
God bless them and FTG.
Let's start one in Patrick County!
To bad AESOP didn't 'muster' with the rest of the 'real men' in that Virginia rally.
Umm....Aesop lives in Southern California. Why on earth would he muster in Virginia?
Here's a potential first mission for the militia:
https://www.captainsjournal.com/2020/02/21/virginia-legislators-enact-their-vengeance-on-constitutional-sheriffs/
Virginia legislators just killed a raise for the Sheriffs for this year. It would've been a 3% raise. They're doing it out of spite because they stood up for the 2A.
According to this: https://www.recruiter.com/salaries/sheriffs-and-deputy-sheriffs-salary/?id=sheriffs-and-deputy-sheriffs&statewages=Virginia
the average Sheriff makes $72,520 a year. A 3% raise would amount to $2,175, or about $42 a week. They should raise that money for their Sheriff. Crowdfund, pass the hat, go door to door in dockers and polos, telling the residents that Virginia won't take care of their Sheriff, but the people of that county are willing to, etc.
WHEN they raise the money, get it published. This is how you start a shadow government that's willing to provide even when the established government isn't willing to. It'll make the politicians look petty and it'll make everyone that gives that much more willing to support their sheriff, and likewise, the sheriff will support his people.
This is a WIN/WIN that costs $42 a week. It'll be reported at a national level. I can't think about how this could go wrong.
No doubt the commie legislators approved a cost of living pay raise for THEMSELVES. If the Virginia State Republican party has half a brain between them, the campaign ads pretty much write themselves.
ooh rah, devil dog... I am in my 60s as well; and although we are no longer active duty, once a Marine... it doesn't stop. Let's hope the youngsters see the value of what we've learned and honed over the years. We aren't done yet, and since a lot of this happened on our watch, the duty falls to us...
I am now 72 years young. You are never too old to serve. If you can't be on the front lines there is a ton of things for you to do. Everybody has to eat and sleep and be resupplied. Medical needs must be met. Transportation and intelligence. And on and on.These militia need lots of support staff so go ahead and volunteer no matter age or disability. This is everyone's fight. God bless
Title 10 United States Code states that the militia is composed of all males 18-45 years of age except those honorably discharged from the Armed Forces of the United States which extends the age limit from 18 to 65.
Add Nottoway County to the list.
We muster at Schwartz's Tavern on March 14th at 12:00 with gear.
This is all very well and good, but if we can't stop the rampant importation of refugees, illegal aliens, and third world legal aliens, it's only a matter of time before we will be at the bottom of the demographics. And in a "democracy," those with the most votes will eventually rule over you.
Fortunately, this isn't a democracy.
