Flick Pick: PCU

PCU
(20th Cent. Fox, 1994)

Everything on my list can't be superlative artistic masterpieces. Some of them are just good entertainment. This cute little effort was just that. It's not a perfect movie, and was a box office flop, but it's absolutely loads of fun, and if anything, way too light on the whole PC problem, which did nothing but metastasize society-wide ever since. Locking a faculty dinner inside a room with Starland Vocal Band's Afternoon Delight on endless autoplay alone was wry genius. A little bit more polish and better writing could have made this a worthy successor to movies like Animal House, but as it is it still manages to make lists for the Top Ten College Movies without breaking a sweat, and continues to be at least a personal guilty pleasure movie, if not so much a universal one.

I'd list it as one of the best of the top half dozen funniest movies of all time. But then, I love rank humor. Just discovered your site- rant on, brother.
