2063 Years Ago Today

"Tragedy is me stubbing my toe. Comedy is you falling off a cliff." - Mel Brooks

Or, getting stabbed to death by your entire Senate.
(President Trump, call your office. Turnabout being fair play, perhaps in commemoration, today the president could stab a few senators. I have a few suggestions if he's interested.)

Go read today's essay. Have fun.

No, John, not Joan.

BTW John, apropos of the day, I found you a pencil holder.

Small point of order: Caesar was assassinated in 44 BC, which means it would be 2062 years ago today.

I know. I'm one of "those" people.

Noted.
I should never do math in my head before I'm fully awake.

But it's 2063, not 2062.
There's no Zeroth Year A.D.
It flips directly from 1 BC to 1 AD.
Touché.

And if we really want to get picky, Christ wasn't born on New Year's Day AFAWK, and today isn't the same day it was before Gregory XIII monkeyed around with the Julian calendar and made it the Gregorian calendar, but it's close enough for the internet.

I love it! I'd forgotten about Romancing the Stone - nice touch. And the pencil holder is on the way - I had to have that. Thanks again!!!!!

By the way, I nominated you for Viceroy when we re-colonize California in the comments at my place the other day. I just want to be there on your first day at work.

Dang! I was saving the "Joan Wilder" bit if I ever met John in person.

Heh, Viceroy, very good. He's got my vote. Though like kings you probably don't vote for viceroys. John, wasn't it you a while back said something about the Senate confirming Sarah Palin as Queen in the North?

Oh, that pencil holder is COLD... :-)

Felix, yes, in my predictions for March, 2019. I still have a few days for that one to come through. Can you imagine her with an army of zebra-striped polar-bear-dragons? (And an auxiliary of leather bikini-clad shield maidens?)

"The John Wilder?"

"John Wilder the bloggist?"

Indeed, such battle imagery!

Heh heh, now I'm smiling from ear to ear.

Aesop, I have the flag ready for the Colony of New California, it's at the bottom here.

Let me know how close to specs the APC is.

John Wilder said...

And use the flag however you see fit.
