Jimmy Kimmel Sets New World Record

You may have noticed that despite working in The Biz, I had nothing worth saying about the Oscars this year. Until now.

(OMG Somebody'sGonnaGetFired) ...Updated numbers have Sunday's Oscar telecast  stumbling to an all-time low.
The kudocast, nearly four hours long, stumbled 19 percent from the previous year to 26.5 million viewers. That's easily the least-watched Oscars in history, trailing 2008 by more than 5 million.

And with the talent and "certain kind of intellect" of unfunny host Jimmy Kimmel back in the spotlight, I couldn't help having some more Miller Time:

No bottom in sight, either. But it might be better to go back to holding it in a local restaurant, and just announcing results the next day, during a commercial break on the Home Shopping Network.

Meanwhile, I'm off to be entertained. I'm not a fan of 99.999% of remakes, as they're mostly atrocious mistakes that should never have been attempted, but I want to see how Bruce Willis does with Death Wish. If Hollywood could remember than gun control means hitting what you aim at, the world for them and us would be a happier place.

This news for some reason just makes me chuckle. ABC Good Morning America on Sunday was pure Oscar pageantry and I'm sure they so thrilled to be a part of this. Couldn't have happened to a better group of people - Go 'way Hollyweird, you just shit your pants but good !!
