Wake Up From The Nightmare
Come out of your caves and down from your treehouse forts. All the whinging that Emperor HopeyDopey I, Himself, was going to transmorgrify into Emperor For Life is now so much gas from the fever swamps.
He's now in charge of precisely nothing. The only further damage he can do is as 1/435th of the House, or 1% of the Senate, if he chose the J.Q. Adams route, and subjects himself to run again. Either way, that'd probably be IL's problem. As it is, he's choosing to just hang around DC, probably out of lack of imagination about what to do with himself now that he's Retired For Life.
Jimmy Carter cheers, because he's no longer the Worst President Evah! and never will be again, throughout history and long after he's dead. Even Nixon, Harding, and Grant can rest in eternity more peacefully as their lifetime batting averages bump up too by comparison.
Now, and for some good time, we have an actual American in the White House, born here beyond question, and who unreservedly likes the country he now leads.
THAT is some Hope and Change we can use.
He wasn't my guy, nor a lot of people's. But he also wasn't a serial felon and pathological liar, which puts him country miles ahead of the alternative, now happily unlikely to ever be president.
For which, a nation gives humble thanks. That service alone moves Trump ahead of Obama on the lifetime ranking of great leaders.
His picks for his cabinet, etc., were a pleasant surprise. Picking, by and large, people who despise the agency(ies) they run should catch on in future (R) administrations. In fact, we should have been doing it since Eisenhower's first term.
If he nominates a Supreme Court replacement worthy of Antonin Scalia, President Trump's legacy moves up another huge notch.
If he gets to replace Ginsburg or one of the other liberal assclowns on SCOTUS, and picks someone as good as Scalia, he rises even higher on the all-time ranking.
The half or so of America that works for a living, rather than votes for a living, should soon have reason to cheer.
Hopefully, the 90M+ who've been unemployed for the last 8 years will have reason too as well. Bonus points if it's because the cars full of illegals fleeing south on I-5 and I-35 ahead of ICE roundups have clogged southbound traffic for days, so much the better.
But things aren't all good. Every time the FBI, CIA, NSA, IRS, and host of other alphabet soup agencies steps on their dicks, it'll be on President Trump's watch. Some accountability, notably missing for some number of decades, wouldn't go amiss. If he walks out to the Press Room, calls up the offender to the dais, and says "You're Fired!", he could insure a second term in short order.
In the meantime, keep your hipboots handy.
The crybabies will be shedding liberal tears in flood quantities, the mewling, moaning, and pissing are likely to be epic, and the BS will probably crest the levees in low-lying areas.
Mainly because the Perpetually Offended have a corner on the market when it comes to low lying.
Try to contain your mirth, and not hurt yourselves laughing.
How could anyone NOT laugh their ass off at the orgy of SJW hissyfits?
I've been pretty much on a continuing mirth-fest since November 8th, and it shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.
But Monday morning, in between gigglesnorts, it'll be time to continue to prepare for bad things.
I still live on a faultline (or 100 of them), there are still floods, tornadoes, and hurricanes where you live, other groups and countries don't like us either and will work to create harm and chaos, and now-deposed jackhole POTUS 44 still spent us nearly 100 TRILLION further into debt, and none of that's changing today, or in the next four years, or likely ever. Work accordingly, knowing that history follows certain grooves.
Over time, the likelihood of things getting sporty, locally, regionally, or everywhere, approaches 100%.
Enjoy the improved atmosphere now, laugh whenever you can - because it's healthy, and good for you; but please, make the most of your time and resources now, and use the precious gift of the current respite to square yourself and your situation away.
There's no telling how long it'll last, but the consequences of squandering the opportunity may be permanent, in a Darwinian selection sort of way.
And kudos to the first person who comes up with a lifesize Zombie Trigglypuff practice target.
THe NiGHT BeFoRe INAuGuRaTioN…
Twas the night before Inauguration, and up in the tower,
The Donald reflected on his newfound power.
The conservative masses had come out in force,
And delivered a victory that would chart a new course.
The snowflakes were shell-shocked with tears in their eyes,
The media lied to them . . . What a surprise.
They had been promised a Hillary win,
But the criminal Clinton took one on the chin.
And though from all corners celebrities flew,
They made no impression, for they hadn’t a clue.
They talked about climate change, racism, and such,
And they made up good stories . . . But didn’t know much.
The fake news and ignorance came at a cost,
And they can’t understand all the reasons they lost.
They blame it on Comey and Bernie and Vlad,
But fail to acknowledge the one that was bad.
Yes, Hillary Clinton, in many ways flawed,
Was her own biggest hurdle toward getting the nod.
The campaign exposed her corruptness and greed,
And her speeches were punch-less as ten dollar weed.
So out in the streets there arose such a clatter,
It was Soros-paid protestors and Black Lives Matter.
With cities to pillage and windows to smash,
They knew not the issues, but needed the cash.
Eight years of Obama had given them cause,
To expect a replacement of their Santa Claus.
But soon the protestors will feel the pain,
When the wheels fall off of the old gravy train.
And now all the snowflakes are riddled with fear,
Upset and offended by things that they’ll hear.
The cocoa and crayons will help for a while,
But fact-based opinions will soon cramp their style.
I originally supported, and voted, for Cruz,
In the end, I would vote for whoever they choose.
He wasn’t my first choice, but soon I would cede,
The one they call Trump is the one that we need.
I saw him on TV in front of a crowd,
He spoke about veterans, it made me feel proud.
He spoke about energy, safety, and jobs,
Taking this country back from the Washington snobs.
He was dressed in Armani, all tailored and neat,
And the Brunos he wore made the outfit complete.
For a man of his vintage, he seemed rather fit,
And he looked presidential, I have to admit.
His eyes glowed like embers, his smile was the best,
And his hair was the color of my old hunting vest.
His love for this country was on full display,
And his actions spoke louder than his words could say.
He thanked all his voters, and before he was gone,
Saved thousands of jobs while Obama looked on.
The fate of this country left nothing to chance,
So, he filled out his cabinet weeks in advance.
The men he had chosen were of the same mind,
Let’s set the bar high, and not lead from behind.
He picked up his phone as he rose from his seat,
With a flick of his finger, he sent out this tweet;
“Now Mattis!, now Kelly!’ now Sessions! And Pruitt!
On Perry! On Flynn, You’re the ones who can do it.
Start lifting restrictions and building the wall,
Now dash away! Dash away! Dash away all!”;
The roar of his audience rose from the stands,
He kissed all their babies and shook all their hands.
He answered their questions and calmed all their fears,
They knew it would be a fantastic four years.
Then he jumped in his limo, and off to his jet,
A fellow that Liberals won’t soon forget.
He sent one more tweet as the evening expired;
“Happy Inauguration to all,
AND OBAMA – YOU’RE FIRED!”
And for Mark D.:
