Sunday Music: California Dreamin'

Any one of these four had more raw talent in their little fingers than most acts bring to the table with their entire bodies. This song hit #4 on the Hot 100, and finished as the #1 song of the year for 1966, tied with Ballad of the Green Berets.

Such an iconic song, thanks for posting! Reminds of the glory days of California back when it was THE destination to move to and not the current dystopian libtard land of dysfunction that taxpayers are now fleeing!

And since you referenced The Ballad of the Green Berets, you should have posted that song too! That is quite a contrast of two hit songs for 1966.

Mama Cass was Lizzo before Lizzo was a thing. And Cass could actually sing.

Comparing Cass Elliot to Lizzo is a horrible insult. Cass was a good and decent woman with phenomenal talent who died far too soon. Mentioning that vile skank and talentless hack in the same breath with her is beyond the pale.

My mother was so taken by the "dream" of California that she drug my father away from his family and they moved there from CT. I was happy to have grown up there in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, but wisely got my wife and I out of there before the century was over. Would never consider going back unless something wiped out the population first. That California is only now a nightmare.

Michelle Phillips, such a beauty, sad end.
John Phillips, child molester.
Mama, gone too soon.
Denny Doherty had a life.
Don't envy any of the famed and fortuned.
You might be better off than 3/4's of them.

P.S. Mama Cass was a fat homely woman with great talent.
Lizzo is from a Godzilla movie, and not playing a woman in distress.
