Sunday Music: Linus and Lucy

Happy December, with Vince Guaraldi's classic theme, jazz that some thought was way over the heads of kids in 1965, when it debuted. Turns out they were underestimating kids way back then. The soundtrack for A Charlie Brown Christmas was voted into the Grammy Hall Of Fame, and is on the Library of Congress' National Recording Registry list of the most significant American recordings of all time.

Cool song. I was born in 1963, but can recall that from the many times watching the Christmas Charlie Brown shows. I've never herd the full length version - Thanks for the link.

Been on my phone a long time. Just a great tune with history.

Ahh memories. Hearing that song brings to mind images of Snoopy dancing, and tries to make my feet emulate him, which is something NO ONE wants to see.

Great music and my favorite Christmas show. Watch it every year on my old VCR tape. Guess I'll have to get the DVD when the VCR finally dies.

A bit charming that for people of a certain vintage that piece is, for all purposes, in the "anthem" category - transports the senses immediately in time & place. Well chosen, Bravo.

Classically trained pianist (and could also play by ear) in our band (back in the days when there were still roadhouses outside of town) was reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally good and confessed to me that was toughtest f'n piece to play that he ever worked on. Even after some years he could nug it out at home for fun but it was never something he could just toss out cold on a request. Tasty, tasty stuff.
