There will be many eulogies spilled today, most of them pre-written, as we've had a years warning that this day would come. I will turn first to someone who has written hundreds of them, and is positioned to be one of the best: Mark Steyn. https://www.steynonline.com/11078/the-indispensable-man
Listening to Rush changed my way of thinking, matured my thought processes and made me the man of thought that I am today. Count me among the millions of deplorables shaped by Rush. Rest in Peace Rush, you will not be forgotten.
I was 30 when Rush went nationwide and I first heard him, so I can't say that he shaped my thinking. I can say that he helped me realize that I was not alone in the way I viewed politics and culture in the US.
And Aesop, nailed it (again) with the musical solution
I wondered the last time he was on the air how much longer we were going to have him with us. I thought his voice didn't sound good at all, and it was obvious he was on some pain meds...the thought process was not his usual quick come-back.
I will greatly miss listening to him as I drive around in the afternoon.
@T-Rav, That's been my policy regarding Facecrack since...ever.
@RandyGC, Same here. I was listening to him since he did "Born Free" animal whacktard updates to the sound of Andy Williams, and MG fire... It's a rare treat to watch someone break an entire medium, and re-mold it in his own image, by sheer talent and force of will.
An icon most definitely. A friend introduced me to him in his early days. The spatula city commercial always made me laugh. Over time I did not listen as much as job description, life, marriage and kids changed my daily schedule and no podcast in the day. I kept up from new listeners reporting on the days quotes. RIP sir and may the negative idiots rot in hell you will be missed but glad you do not have to witness the idiocracy about to transpire and yorba linda slide into the ocean.
Quite unacquainted with this obviously distinguished personage, beyond the name mentioned as a prominent in the broadcast medium. I had always registered and voted Libertarian although I slowly became anarchist. In spite of that I changed my registration to Republican so that I could vote for DJT in the primary in 2016: one cannot cross party lines in the primary. I voted twice again for DJT in the generals of 2016 and 2020: proud to be a deplorable anarchist chump.
Not counting the news outlets or websites along the full range of accuracy and veracity, I follow multiple actual individuals' handwritten blogs. (Bot news aggregators don't thrill me.) Looking them over, many are current serving or former military and a couple are some variation of high-speed low-drag elite forces ninjas. Or just funny as all. Because life without humor is just despair. So in other words, the same folks I trusted in the military not to wet the bed, sh*t themselves, or otherwise run around like headless Nancys, are the same folks I trust on the interwebz, for demonstrating pretty much the same trustworthiness and circumspectly responsible behavior. Color me shocked.
Comments are fully moderated, due to idiots and trolls. Grown up discussion here will appear just as soon as I have the time to push it through. ANONYMOUS UNSIGNED COMMENTS WILL BE AUTO-DELETED WITHOUT MERCY, and the url added to the spam filter, or mercilessly mocked at the bloghost's sole discretion. If you're too chickensh*t to come up with an alias for online purposes, you're not tall enough for this blog. Pick a name, and stick with it, and you're good. Get cute, and you're wasting your time and my electrons, and your masterpiece will never see the light of day. No warning shots will be fired. If you can't maintain decorum and polite behavior, I won't toy with you, I'll squash you. If one of your comments disappears, YOU f**ked up. If all of them do, it's time for you to go. Disagree with the points made, on the merits, and you're good. Go after me personally, or other commenters, and your comment will never see daylight here. My tolerance for skirting the line is at absolute zero, and will remain there. Don't f**k up.

A great man gone long before his time. RIP, Mr. Limbaugh.

There has been some vile stuff said there today.
What June J said.

May he rest in peace. He's no longer in pain.
Will miss you Rush. The mold has been broken.

"Mega ditto's" Rush for your love for the USA and all you did and said to educate the "unwashed" masses and us deplorables. RIP brother!
