Reality Is A Harsh Umpire

Your argument has been Dorf dunked.

source "Caitlin Clark couldn't play for a Division One NCAA men's team!" -Joel in IT, 5'8" 240lbs

Joel could be 5'1" and 340 pounds, and he'd still be right. Bummer. This is why we don't vote on Reality. It simply is.

When an argument defaults to ad hominem in the only line, you've already lost the discussion.

Clark is apparently a phenom in women's sports. (Personally, we couldn't say, studiously ignoring the lot of them for either sex as we do, by choice. But there are always leaks in the culture, so we hear scraps, here and there.) Which is why they're women's sports.

If leagues were coed, her starting position would be Left Out. Or tallest cheerleader. But we think it's neat that they have sports leagues for the weaker sex, so they don't feel left out any more. OTOH, men never had to sue to get money for themselves, because people actually, y'know, go to their games. Must be brainwashing, or shotgun patriarchy, or something.

This is why women don't compete against men at the Olympics, because they wouldn't even make the teams in most sports if that were the case, and certainly not in any of the ones where prowess was objectively based on fastest, strongest, etc. Because at those, women simply aren't any such thing. Even if they could dunk on Joel in IT.

Venus or Serena Williams could kick my fat ass on a tennis court six days a week and twice on Sunday. (Not least of which because I've never played a game of tennis in my life.) That isn't the point. If they competed against men, they wouldn't even make the quarter-finals. This isn't a discussion assertion, it's a historical fact.

Just as the fastest women marathon runners in the entire world, in all recorded history, would place behind most male competitors in high schools, from anywhere in the world. Biology FTW. Again.

But call us when Caitlin gets drafted into the NBA.

We'll just wait here for that day.

We don't call women "the weaker sex" just to get their panties in a twist. We say it because it's undeniably true, since ever. We also do it because the bigger the disconnect with reality, the tighter that twist becomes.

Frankly, we're mainly relieved that Clark isn't really a second-class male athlete, trying to pass as a woman "by identifying", just to get a participation trophy. Which mainly shows how far the culture has descended in the last 50 years or so.

  1. For the benefit of the youngsters in the crowd.'Dorf' is a comedic character starring Tim Conway. Pure slap stick for sure, but don't knock success. The 'Dorf' series of VHS/DVD/BR still is #1 in sales in comedy genre even to this day. How I have no clue but again you don't argue with _is_.

  2. Women are amazing. They are beautiful, sexy, alluring. And yes intelligent and especially in K-12 perform better than most men academically. A women athlete or dancer typically becomes even more beautiful and attractive. It is in their genes to be like this. Men on the other hand generally aren't so attractive, they tend to be argumentative, belligerent, violent and even shun education and don't take direction well. They tend to be naturally strong agile, fast and with training and exercise become incredibly strong agile and fast. When you put all these things together you have exactly what god/mother nature intended; someone to protect the women and their children, someone to hunt and not just hunt but spend days and weeks living on next to nothing traveling hundreds of miles carrying outrageous burdens just so that they can feed and protect the weaker and more beautiful and caring sex. It isn't men's fault that they are strong animals capable of extraordinary physical acts but thank god that they are. We wouldn't be free have a civilization rights and every modern invention if god/mother nature had only created women.

Male basketball players are big lumbering, strong, capable animals playing rough and focused on winning. Women basketball players are beautiful creatures whose exercise and training makes them look even more beautiful. It isn't my fault, it isn't women's fault and it isn't men's fault. It was intended by god/mother nature and it is what it is.

  3. Clark's success offends the right people as their biggest beef with her is not that she broke Pistol Pete's scoring record against inferior competition, but that she did it while not being a pot smuggling black Dyke.

  4. I'm a recent fan of women's BB. I stopped watching pro BB long ago when the weenies started flopping like pussified EU soccer players when they get breathed on.

Judging from what I've seen of the how the women play the game, they are a tough bunch dealing out punishment, some would call it thuggery, more than the men.

Some of the current top ranked women players are very talented, others not so much but they make the team because they're tall and can run and shoot reasonably well.

Caitlin Clark is a scoring phenom, especially against less talented teams than Iowa. She did show some vulnerability last night against a tough UConn team, missing three pointers that she usually makes and turning the ball over several times early in the game. Yet, she still managed to score 20 points for the 40th+ game in a row and was instrumental in Iowa returning to the Finals on Sunday. Her defensive game is weak. She doesn't get her hands in her opponents face enough. She probably hasn't had to play much defense in her entire life because she's always been a scoring phenom, figuring that she can beat any team, almost alone, with her shooting prowess.

Could she play on a men's team in any league? Maybe a high school team or Div 4 (or D, i forget how the Div's are ranked, let's just call it the lowest ranked men's college sports teams). Div 1 or 2 College or the NBA? Not happening. She'd get killed out there.

We'll see what she's made of this Sunday when she goes against the undefeated South Carolina team.

  5. I think it was Venus Williams, not "kid sister" Serena, who was asked about her ability to play against any of the men from Wimbledon, and she told the reporter flat out there's no way she could compete against them. It's not a secret to the athletes themselves.

  6. I saw that clip, just was too lazy to hunt for it. She said she'd be beaten 6-0, 6-1 in straight sets.
