  1. Well, isn't THIS special...

  2. Hmmm...what could it be? What could it be?

  3. I'm not a doctor and even I'm baffled.

  4. Out of curiosity, have you seen the columns by a Col. MacGregor, who keeps claiming that Russia is going to devastate/destroy Ukraine Real Soon Now?
Link to his latest at WRSA: https://westernrifleshooters.us/2022/12/10/vlahos-macgregor-ukr-rus-war-entering-decisive-stage/
IIRC, he's been predicting a Russian victory since the war began. I've suffered through a few of his videos. When he talks about things I'm familiar with, such as military engineering design and technology, I tend to lump him with the Comic Book Magnate and others of that ilk.

  5. I will not who will win this feud, but Russia is going to lose a great number of mobilized troops to general winter in the next three months. Those snuffies with little or no winter equipment are going to reenact Napoleon's retreat. They don't have the institution knowledge to improvise body insulation such as wrapping their torsos with newspaper and packing straw in sandbags for their feet. When it gets to
minus 20-30 C, they will lose 10-20 percent of front line troops ever night. By the end of March, the Mississippi National Guard driving a mule drawn hay wagon would roll over them. Leroy will say "Cletus, was that the 4th Guards Tank Army we just rolled thru"?

  6. @Plague Monk,
AFter the 4th or fifth time someone demanded a review, I suffered through one of his published screeds. He got three things wrong in his opening sentence, and nothing right in his first two paragraphs out of a 14-paragraph polemic, and other than the 50-200 recent historical facts and incidents with which he seemed wholly unfamiliar, I got a pretty clear picture of why senior command ended his career short of a star. he was probably a clusterfuck as a captain, but managed to hang around long enough for a pension.

He's more of a Putin fanboy (minus any explanation for that) than FSB-cheerleader the Saker, and other than an utter dearth of basic competence with personnnel, intelligence, training, operations, logistics, communication, combined arms, supporting arms, or command, he's totally the guy I'd choose for an Airsoft game if I wanted to lose big.

When I see his name, all I can see are everything wrong with the military in general and the Army in detail since 1960.

And those are his good points.

  7. I keep thinking that part of the reason some people be Pimpin' for Putin is because they want to believe that his sort of Autocracy could work here.

  8. Apologies, Aesop for the problem about my inquiry about Col. MacGregor that got posted over at Knuckledraggin's site. If I'm reading Wirecutter right, he's implying that you and Plague Monk are the same person. I've replied over there responding to the allegation and asked him to clarify his remark.
I've offered to allow him to publish my real name to clarify things, now that I'm no longer seeking professional engineering design work.
Thanks for the reply WRT the not-so-good Colonel. I'm tempted to buy one of his books and fisk it in a review, but I simply don't have the time...

  9. 's no problem, PM.

I've had three different people tell me that half the retards at Nameless Canuckistani Blowhard's site think everyone who disagrees with him are me, too.

I am apparently everyone's default boogeyman anytime they can't argue a point on the merits. This despite the fact that for over fifteen years on the 'net, I scrupulously sign my own posts. "This subject is kicking my ass, and this commenter has all the facts arrayed against me. It must be Aesop." It's comedy gold, I tell ya.

Why everyone is glomming onto Macgregor and his diaper spackle is beyond me, other than pure undiluted confirmation bias, but he's a lightweight, and notably not tall enough to opine on the topics he chooses, based on actual evidence. Everything I've seen of him points to him pulling most of his opinions out of his underpants, and he's been predicting a massive Russian victory every other day for about 8 months now, with no luck on that prognosis.

In biblical times, false prophets were stoned to death.
    O, for the ancient remedies.

  10. Comrade Filthie repeats his errors:

He thinks I'm you. (Being fair, he thinks everyone who disagrees with him is you.)
He thinks you said Ukraine was going to conquer Russia.
Then he admits he hasn't gotten anything right since this started, and still tasks you for besting him.
But Russia! Russia! RUSSIA!!! is going to triumph. Somehow.

You've got to read this one, it's hilarious:

  11. No, I really don't. Wild horses couldn't drag me.
Blowhard is free to use the 'net to spew his ass-gas. He hasn't been right about literally anything in dog years, across multiple blogs. Anyone going to his site to lick his diaper gets what they deserve. The best thing he could do to prove his own bare grasp of reality is not pass up any good opportunity to shut up about the host of things on which he's completely ignorant, but he's the poster boy for Dunning-Kruger, and that isn't going to happen.
