Personally

I paid this yesterday, in SoCal, at my local station. Most stations hereabouts are higher.

This is not an anecdote, it is a data point. FTR, it was $3.15/gallon the day Poopypants was inflicted on this country. (He was never elected.)

By the end of the month, these will be considered "the good old days of $5/gallon".

By the end of the summer, people may well be wishing they'd stockpiled gasoline by the barrel.

GMTA: Brace for impact.

BTW:
Who was the Veep the last time Russia invaded Ukraine?

Asking for a friend.

  1. Here in madera just north of fresno, we are only slightly lower than that at 4.599 for 87 at valero yesterday. Chevron yesterday was 4.99. Haven't been by there today, hope it's not higher. FJB

  3. And there's no bottom to this well - last time it was just the system getting wonky. Now? It's the system broken on purpose.

  4. All signs point to . . . gone. Not in evidence anywhere here. Cases down to zero.

  6. Check overseas news last night Russian s went back to the gold backed currency. Means ours will be worthless. Or so bad the 15.00 bread will be cheap

  7. Kinda depends on how much gold they have to back their currency, doesn't it?

  8. Both the Russians and Chinese have been stockpiling gold for the last couple of years. It's easy for them to do seeing as they're the #1 and #2 gold producing countries accounting for approximately 20% of the world's current production.

  10. Paid $3.65 here in FL this morning. This is the most I have ever paid for gas. FJB and his administration.

  11. $3.69 here went up 23 cents yesterday for that price.

Just about every MSM headline this a.m. is saying, "Russia Shells Ukrainian Nuclear Power Plant" as the small street journal did here well you figure it out.

  12. Posted at 3.39 in CO this morning.

That was the best price visible. There are strange variations of up to 20 cents per gallon at different stations. No discernable pattern to it.

Been that way for a week.

I topped off my fuel tank in both cars.

  13. ...and the orange haired WH crypt keeper is blaming the oil companies who she claims are "sitting on" a bunch of drilling leases while failing to mention that Buydem suspended said leases during his first week in office. Not to mention, Pete Buttplug saying yesterday that the administration was not going to "implement permanent solutions to ... short term problems" re: Keystone when asked.

  14. I paid $3.65 for Mobil regular yesterday AM. Area prices today range from $3.43 for a no name brand to $4.09 at a couple Shells and a Gulf. Yesterday the Gulf was the only one at $4.09 and the only one over $4.00. I'm in central New England.
