Tactical Combat Casualty Care and Wound Treatment

Just what it looks like: a private company, in this case Skyhorse Publishing, printing in dead tree form what your tax dollars paid for.

You can get it in pdf form here, for the price of electrons and data stream, or from the Government Printing Office for Uncle's cost, or you can get the Skyhorse version at brick-and-mortar Barnes and Noble stores, or from Amazon here.

This is, AFAIK, the current version, which, as state-of-the-art hands-on initial trauma treatment, you should get, learn, and master.

N.b.: Not all of Skyhorse's bootlegs of US military manuals are so current. Caveat emptor.

You would be well-advised to search and seek out the YouTube videos that illustrate and explain the various techniques, as well as getting yourself one apiece of certain key items (tourniquet, wound dressings, etc.), making them sacrificial training aids, and cracking them open for repetitive hands-on learning. Just like Big Green does for everyone from E-1 and up.

Because the worst time to learn how to treat a fresh bullet hole or a sucking chest wound, is when the blood is spurting out bright red and fresh in front of you. Doubly so if it's also your arterial lifeblood doing the leaking.

Get it, learn it, live it.
If things get sporty, you will see this material again.

Thus endeth the lesson.
