Sunday Music: Find Another Fool
Second single (after Harden My Heart) off of Quarterflash's self-titled 1981 debut album, which peaked at #16, certifying the band as no mere one-hit wonders, and propelling their opening album to platinum status, courtesy of another hard-rocking tune with Rindy Ross doing both lead vocals and playing saxophone.
1981/82, heck, until 1988 - those were the most hectic times in my life. I thought this was Pat Benatar, so I look them up online and see her mentioned but apparently wasn't with Quarterflash for any length of time. I would have bet that Pat sang Harden My Heart.
Unlike Pat Benatar, Rindy Ross was a most spectacular redhead, and one helluva sax player. Benatar never sang with Quarterflash. They were coasts apart, and Quarterflash originated in Portland OR as Seafood Mama, IIRC. Benatar was pure NYC east coast girl. Ross, like Pat, married her lead guitarist, and both couples are still together to the present day.
My favorite cut off of that album was Valerie. Quarterflash and Asia enjoyed extended play in my car's cassette deck way back when.
