If he ended up dying of suddenly (or 9mm syndrome or a tragic pillow incident) it might not change much. Perhaps the dems would use it to distract on an emotional level from the Trump assassination attempt. Knee Pads could still serve 2 terms. Deep state actors would still be controlling from behind the scenes. Dems could use Knee pads as current president to say they are running an incumbent. Otherwise the slate is an experienced president vs a candidate.
