FAFO Medal, with Gold Star

You're Driving While Black in Chicongo. Five plainclothes Chicago PD officers in an unmarked vehicle pull a traffic stop on you, under circumstances perhaps questionable or perhaps not (immaterial, as it turns out).

You refuse to comply with orders, they see/discover you're packing heat, point guns in your direction, get loud, and you elect to shoot your way out of the situation, initiating the first volley and wounding one of the officers (who is also black), firing just shy of a dozen rounds at them. Poor life choices achieves Peak Stupid.

Because the correct response to "Roll down your windows" is not "Draw and fire your gun at the police". Ever.

The other four officers, both for general purposes, and some of them because they note that one of them has already been shot by you, proceed to unload a number approaching 100 rounds into you, your vehicle, and the neighborhood, leading you to exit the vehicle midway in your final performance as a piece of Swiss cheese, before ending your criminal career as a bloody and well-ventilated lump on the asphalt. Final tally CPD 1, Dindu 0.

Bad shooting (most of which consisted of "to whom it may concern" rounds fired at and through the body and windows of Dindu's vehicle), and a horrendous amount of crossfire before, during, and after, but nonetheless a good shoot.

Why? Because it's a given that once you shoot at the police, however you came to be in contact with them initially, all further bets are off, and they get to do whatever they do, once you granted them the carte blanche  of opening the ball by pulling the first trigger. And they will reload as necessary and continue until they're tired of shooting at you. Bugger, eh?

Now, Dindu (whose name we shan't repeat) is a Good Perp, having absorbed an unknown but clearly toxic amount of lead kinetically.

Boo frickin hoo; Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes.

Gold Star designating a Darwin Award nomination for shuffling off your mortal coil and removing yourself from the gene pool is herewith authorized.

McThag posted a link to the CPD bodycam footage from all participating officers, most particularly the five who initiated the traffic stop on Dindu. Not that graphic, but it's unedited and unblurred. Consider yourself cautioned.

If there were more cases like this, there'd be less cases like this.

CPD might be faulted, and perhaps should be closely questioned, about how and why five plainclothes tactical officers are doing traffic stops - on whatever pretext - in an unmarked SUV.

But when someone thusly stopped responds by pulling a gun and opening fire on them, let alone wounds one, the po-po going all machinegun-in-Walter-White's-car-trunk is an entirely appropriate and justified response, until they're satisfied that the threat (you) are entirely neutralized. And they're gonna do that.

If this is news to you, a kevlar vest and bullet-resistant car should be in your future.

Or, when stopped and asked, you could simply present your license and registration, maybe get a ticket or maybe not, and be on your way.

  1. See? Right there is why Chicongo cops should have 100 round drum magazines with tracers. And of course, there's going to be lots of interest in another ghetto lottery. At the end of the trial it will be safe to walk down MLK Boulevard because the dindus will all be getting DNA tests to see if they might be the father.

  3. Aesop,

My God!!! Your study of the US Constitution has produced appalling and abysmal results. It is clearly stated in Article 1, Section 11, that any black man raised without a father in the home is granted an exemption from complying with any commands from law enforcement.

Many constitutional scholars believe that the Founding Fathers were mindful of the fact that, in the future, as a result of the lifestyle choices of their mothers, most black men would be raised without a "father figure" in the home (or, at a minimum, a series of "weekend dads" each year) and, as a result, would be "discipline-challenged."

The consequences would be their refusal to view law enforcement as figures who must be complied with when directives are issued. This attitude would only increase the chances of violent conflict with law enforcement, the applicable legal doctrine being, "Illegitimi Non Carborundum Est" which, in this particular context, can more loosely be translated as "Who the hell are the po-lice to tell me to do anything?"

Our Founding Fathers had the wisdom to recognize that the end result of this process would all-too-often be a dramatic, abrupt termination of a black man's participation in our society and its republican form of government, and they wanted to avoid this.

I hope that the preceding helps shed light on the issue.

  4. Here's how you make a dindu assume ambient temperature in South Carolina.

  5. I am of the considered opinion that crime increased soon after we stopped performing public hangings. Some people learn by reading. Some people learn by doing. For the rest? Well they learn by watching the other person swing from the end of a rope.

We need to bring it back and televise it.

  6. Second City Cop published the police reports of shots fired by the individual cops, and noted that the MSM is reporting the 17 rounds the suspect fired as shots by police.
The cops were reportedly a tactical team or warrant squad, for why some in uniform but unmarked cars, and the suspect was reportedly on pre-trial release for a felony gun crime.
It's amazing what doesn't make the news. SARC /

  7. @John,

Heard both of those, but didn't have a link to source it at time of posting.
I'm not saying the stop was illegal, just that it raises questions.
Tac teams don't usually write traffic tickets, nor should they.
A tac team following an about-to-be-felon meets the requirements for "Why...?"
They just saved the citizens half a million dollars at trial in exchange for about $50 worth of ammo.

As for the round count, to me it's immaterial.
The video shows the cops ventilating the car for quite the extended period (one of the five completed two entire mag dumps), but even after that, the suspect had the wherewithal to come out running, so he wasn't down and out yet.
That 10-20 rounds were his outgoing doesn't surprise me much; you can tell the difference between the opening volley, which was him, and the officers outside returning fire.

As noted, once he shoots, I don't care if they shot entire belts of 7.62 at him in return. There are some mistakes you don't get to make twice in life.
Opening fire when surrounded by five cops with weapons out is one of them.
I think Dindu figured Eternity was a better sentence than doing a nickel for a gun charge.
So CPD just fulfilled his Make-A-Wish.

One down, 50,000 more to go in Chicongo.

  8. Where as I can hardly complain about the dindu getting sent off, I wonder if his initial reponse to the stop was due to the fact that he feared he was getting jumped by other thugs.

  9. I'm convinced that the MSM is playing this up to provoke riots, because there are signs that some of our darker skinned kin are considering voting for Trump. That can't be allowed, so stirring the St Fentanyl of Floyd cauldron is the means of getting everyone back on the plantation.

What the darky leaders don't seem to recognize is that there are an awful lot of us who welcome the idea of mobs coming to our neighborhoods intent on acting like their kin in Haiti. Some of us may be armed with $5000 side by side English shotguns, while others have their Scorpions and AR15s. But all of us are ready to party to defend our families and loved ones.
