About the only memorable Don Felder solo effort after the Eagles went on their 14-year hiatus, with a totally 80's video worthy of the effort, from the guy who gave you the opening riff of Hotel California (both the classic studio track and Hell Freezes Over acoustic versions*), and whose guitar virtuosity drives this whole track as well.
*{enjoy the acoustic version link - probably the best version of this song they ever did live - while it lasts. The Eaqles/Geffen Records kill uploads of it almost as fast as they can play whack-a-mole.}
I liked his Heavy Metal soundtrack song. This has much better visuals.
ReplyDeleteVideo reminds of ZZ Top Legs and Sharp Dressed Man. Song doesn't do much for me, matter of taste, I suppose. Certainly doesn't hit the level of Smuggler's Blues, Dirty Laundry, or Boys of Summer by Frey / Henley.
ReplyDeleteFelder is a talented guitarist. But he lacked what was needed to succeed without the rest of the Eagles... who did just fine after they parted company. I personally think Joe Walsh is better than Felder.
ReplyDeleteHuh. I cannot remember hearing this before.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the happy 80's video memories.
That is so bad it's good.

The Hell Freezes Over acoustic version of Hotel California is my favorite as well.
ReplyDeleteFelder's website doesn't even list the album that Bad Girls was on, "Airborne" release in 1983.
