Item: Truckers to begin cutting off shipments to NYFC Monday in response to the recockulous verdict in Trump's fraud trial delivered there last week.
Can you say "expedited overturn on appeal"? I thought you could.
The 800 Pound Gorilla has now entered the 2024 Election Chat.
Stock up on popcorn and beverages.
NYFC is about to get a lesson in power politics. Without lube.
I wish I shared your optimism in regards to this. I believe it could work but do not think there will be enough drivers that join in to make a difference. Hope I am wrong.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is that the NYFC "elite" will be the ones suffering the least.
ReplyDeleteHell, they may just pack their bags and head for the Hampton's, Vail, Miami, or wherever else they vacation.
Fascinating, if true. And, if true, good.
ReplyDelete4th Gen warfare?
Big whoop on this one, sorry man but hey we can activate the NG, or Army reserves or do any of the sorted things Canada did with that previous protest. Not saying roll over and die but this is a nothing burger. Especally when a massive amount of your truckers are green card holders (if at best) or you have companies disbared from doing business with NY, CA or whatever.
ReplyDeleteIf this were to really happen, it would be fun and valuable to watch and to see .Govs reaction. BUT you have to remember most of these truckers are so called conservatives and in my opinion, the loudly proclaimed conservatives are mostly talk when things get skippy. They brag and boast then when things may actually cost them something or the feds start arresting them, on to the next thing. Or if they are "Christian Conservatives" then some reverend "send me money" will be sent to talk to them about the sins of pride and all the innocents they are hurting in commie occupied NY and how GOD personally told him that GOD wants them to love our little commie and illegal friends.
ReplyDeleteI do so hope you are right! Truck them all!
ReplyDeleteNYFC FA and are about to FO. I'm thinking the riots start by next Friday, maybe sooner. Can't wait for the pics and clips of the little old lady's who took the subway and the train to Westchester or one of those little bergs just over the line in Joisey to pick up some groceries, then getting pistol whipped by some dindu gangbanger on the way back.
ReplyDeleteThis is gonna be epic. Hochul will be calling out the guard ... to deliver groceries, not to protect the citizens.
Total chaos in less than a week.
Bernhard Goetz, paging Bernhard Goetz. please pick up the nearest white telephone.

Just saw your "Chicken/Egg" article below. Who knows, this boycott could be the spark that finally blows the smouldering ember we have existed in for the past 3.5 years into a brightly burning flame of destruction.
ReplyDeleteI remember a line from some article years ago that described scenario's of a collapse ... "slowly at first, then all at once".
The stock market's reaction tomorrow will be interesting. Currently EU and Asia markets are green and U.S. Futures are also green. So maybe they're waiting to see what happens and if truckers are going to carry through on the boycott or the plunge protection team is in action once again.
Gonna be an interesting week.

Without supplies? 3 days to anarchy. I sure hope we get livestreams!
ReplyDeleteThe truckers could take a page out of their Canadian brothers. Just show up, shutdown, flatten the tires and throw away the keys. Only twenty or so major transit points to clog up.
ReplyDeleteThis may well fizzle. But it's worth exploring.
ReplyDeleteAnd if it works, even if the elites flee, they can't stay fled forever, and there's no downside to continuing this sort of thing and expanding it to other areas.
At the very least, it tells you some people are tired of sitting around, and are willing to do something.
That alone is a very encouraging sign, even if it's just a warning shot across the bow for Election Steal 2.0.
What would be more effective would be taking out one or more of the aqueducts that provide water to NYFC from reservoirs in the Catskills. SF writer Harry Harrison noted this in his novel Make Room! Make Room!, which became the basis for the movie Soylent Green.
ReplyDeleteThe novel was much better than the mediocre movie, but Mr. Harrison was not willing to go into depth on this subject, given his politics. As I recall, the late Steven DenBeste looked at this in some depth.
I was fortunate enough to work on a scenario for coordinated terror attacks in the 1980s and this was one of the options that we explored. I wonder if I still have my notes on the subject?
IF enough truckers boycott the city for a long enough period something might come of this.
ReplyDeleteSomehow I doubt that will happen. A few of them will make a high profile stink for a short period. Then it will be back to business as usual.
I would assume that some truckers already boycott NY State like some boycott CA, but they don't have an impact beyond a slight increase in rates.
ReplyDeleteUnless a huge number join this boycott, they won't have a noticeable effect either, unfortunately.
I'd love to see the states face backlash for their actions, but I don't expect it anytime soon.

Most truckers these days don't own the trucks they drive. It's all big trucking companies now. Drivers who won't do their jobs can simply be fired and replaced.
ReplyDeleteIn NYC this boycott will pass unnoticed.
Plaque Monk,
ReplyDeleteWith fentanyl you would not even need to destroy any infrastructure. Dump ## into the source and let the infrastructure do the rest. Tens of thousands would be dead before they had a clue and the after effects would be equal to Rome losing its water source in post Roman times.
"sorry man but hey we can activate the NG, or Army reserves or do any of the sorted things Canada did with that previous protest."
ReplyDeleteAFAIK, nobody's proposing a Canadian-style block-party. They're proposing not taking any shipping contract that requires them to deliver in New York City.
If you want to activate the guard to ship stuff into New York that private truckers won't, um... go ahead?
Or are you talking about using the guard to force people to take shipments?
I pretty sure that latter won't work out well for anyone.
He took down the original video because his grandson saw it on Tik Tok I think this thing will fizzle. Chicago Ray should have given his grandson a lesson in respecting his elders rather than giving in to emotional blackmail.
ReplyDelete"Fire and replace"? Yeah, there's a leeetle problem with that: not enough drivers to fill the demand. Nowadays, in order to get a Class A CDL in Amerika v2.0 a prospective driver is required to take a minimum 6-month-long training course from a state-approved school. Then, assuming you pass without having to repeat the course (many don't, at an expense of several thousand dollars per round), the insurance carried by almost all trucking companies requires that any applicant must have at least two (2) years experience before they can be hired.
ReplyDeleteExactly how a new driver is supposed to get that experience before ever working a single day behind the wheel is left to the imagination. All things considered, though, it becomes obvious that any trucking company who fires several of its drivers isn't going to be a trucking company for a whole lot longer.
Truck drivers have a whole hell of a lot more power than they seem to realize. In fact, with a consistent 75 percent (or even higher, depending) of goods being delivered by truck, including food, they have damned near ALL the power--all of it that really matters, certainly a damned sight more than the politicians do.
you know, Mike, that right there is one of my main irritants; if not the #1. It isn't just the truckers with power, it is each group of us deplorables, whatever we labor at. My hope is this no trucks into new york thing begins to get our groups of fuckers to start saying "no". As in "hell no". Let them roll up those white sleeves and do some fucking work.
DeleteEXACTLY!
ReplyDeleteOur so-called "leadership" isn't going to do a damned thing but jellyfish, and the sooner we start making the democommunists have to pay more dearly for their infernal efforts, the less fun it'll be for them to push for more.
Personally, I think The Real Trucker Jake said it best with: "MAGA patriots make this country run. Liberals make our coffee." Bang, zoom, to the MOON, Alice! :D
ReplyDeleteIt appears (according to ZeroHedge) that somebody got to the "leader" of this particular effort; but if we all understand "Commanders Intent" we can still participate. Read of one guy going through his portfolio to look for NY companies.
ReplyDeleteI'm reminded of the Airborne PFC in Normandy alone with his wire-cutters
