Anyone who ever foolishly opined that '70s music sucked has to contend with the reality of Heart's 1977 original signature Top Twenty hard-rocking shriek at the douchebags they ran into in the music industry. Still one of the most bad-ass hard rock songs of all time.
There is a lot of good music from that era, most of the mainstream music sicks in any era. To those who deify the music of the sixties, remember that a cartoon group had atop forty hit that had a long stay on the charts, the Archies "Sugar Sugar".
ReplyDeleteJust as another example, Golden Earing's Radar Love album was a stand out, or anything by Rory Gallagher from that era.
I remember the summer that that song came out on the radio. I would dial among four different stations to hear it played at least three times an hour. Great album - great song.
ReplyDeleteyes, Barracuda has always been awesome.
ReplyDeleteI had that album in vinyl, then in CD. They were wonderful.

We have different tastes in music, so a lot of your music choices don't appeal to me, but you nailed it with this one.
ReplyDeleteThey rocked.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, the Wilson sisters.
ReplyDeleteThe 70's genre sucked? Go take a gander at the 80's, unless disco was your reason for living, it was like a desert.
ReplyDeleteDisco? 1980s??
ReplyDeleteSaturday Night Fever was 1977.
This was the 1980s (July 25, 1980, in fact):
