My brother and I did that once and we were only about 50 feet from hard pavement. The road were had just cut out had a small berm cut at an angle on the road. Driver's side tire went over the hill - passenger side the closer side. Vehicle was effectively trapped. Couldn't get underneath to dig out. Boy did we feel stupid.
My son took a picture of me asking for directions in Ireland about 20 years ago. He was 12 at the time. I haven't decided yet if I'm gonna disinherit him for it.
Directions! We don't need no stinkin' directions. Unless you know there is a sale on 7.62x54R somewhere...

ReplyDeleteNever been lost on roads but I was definitely lost for a couple of days in the Hellhole Swamp. Long before GPS.
