Lo, There do I see my Father Lo, There do I see my Mother and My Brothers and my Sisters Lo, There do I see the line of my people back to the begining Lo, They do call to me They bid me take my place among them in the halls of Valhalla Where thine enemies have been vanquished Where the brave shall live Forever Nor shall we mourn but rejoice for those that have died the glorious death
One day One dark day with storms boiling the horizons I stand in a long row with my brothers and with my sisters A row stretching as far as the eye can see And we turn to face our demons And we fight! And the Valkyrie carry me across the River Hel And I walk to the Great Lodge of Valhalla And all the dogs I know come running out to greet me And as I step inside to the banquet I sing my song And they know me! They know me!
Russia peaked at 20% of Ukraine, and that was last August. {For Common Core grads, that would be 1/5th, which is less than 2/3rds. In fact, it's even less than 1/3rd. Or even 1/4th.} They've been pushed back from that amount every day since. It's probably closer to 1/6th. Which works out to 300% less than what you supposed.
Always take an honor guard with you. If you have to go, go down fighting. The size of your guard of honor determines your status in hell. Robert A. Heinlein

As someone too old and out of shape to play "run-n-gun" I am more than happy (and equipped) to remove targets of opportunity from a hidey hole several hundred yards out.
I'm with you, Glyp. Years past, when WRSA still allowed comments, I remember Pete saying "you can still be dangerous". Copy that. I've always said there will be a day that the .gov will regret what I learned in my beloved Corps. Up on a hill, below the military crest, we will be waiting.
Yup. Us old pharts can do something. We are not useless.

A dedicated shooter in a well concealed position would serve as an effective delaying action

Well said.
ReplyDeleteThat's pretty much how I see things these days. Never, ever, ever give up.

ReplyDeleteAt the end of WW2 there were Germans who were going to kill occupation army troops all around Germany, called "Werewolves".
ReplyDeleteI don't know long they lasted, but they were ended. The Ukrainian "resistance" will be ended the same way.
About 2/3rd of Ukraine is now Russian territory, a done deal.
I think you better check your fractions, Pat.

Ackshually...
ReplyDelete50% less would mean they kicked the Russians back to half of what they took. 100% less would be no Russian-held territory in Ukraine.
But you are right. To the best of my knowledge, the Russians haven't held 2/3 of Ukraine since they went by the moniker USSR.
