FIFY. You're welcome. |
This isn't the original meme. And the original wasn't bad at all. But now, the items are in the correct order. (And I'll accept precedence quibbles anywhere after about #8.)
Then there's this example:
It's T-A-I-W-A-N, not T-I-A-W-A-N, Goober. |
Brilliant concept. Retarded execution.
And I may have edited the corner attribution. Learn to spell, Shakespeare. Nothing botches a meme faster than looking like it was cobbled up by an illiterate mouthbreather. (And I say that as someone that's had to fix more than one spelling screw-up after posting it, or go back and make it right before putting it up.)
Don't half-ass this. No excuses: there's SpellCheck and the entirety of human knowledge already there for you on the Internet, if you'd just learn to look things up. If you're going to make memes, Learn To Spell.
I already practice/know 1-7,10,11. Next skill coming up is beer brewing.
ReplyDeleteI'm not at all sure #12 is worth the hassle. Mushrooms can add taste and texture but I don't think there's much nutritional value there. Lion's mane mushrooms are easy to recognize (there is NOTHING else that looks like them), they're reasonably tasty if fried in butter or oil and if we see one that's convenient to grab we do so, but otherwise the time is better spent on nearly anything else.
ReplyDeleteA lot of "invasive" plants are edible.
Pest control is a bigger subset of this than you think. How good are you at hunting potato bugs? Are you ready to spend six weeks bent over in the midmorning spring heat looking for them? Have you ever had a squirrel come in and dig up all your sweet potatoes while ignoring all your baited traps? Ever see a groundhog climb your chicken wire fence to get to your lettuces? How do you keep the deer out? And you know that corn that was just about ready for harvest? - the raccoons agreed with you, 12 hours ago. Note that firearms are no part of a correct answer to any of this unless you're prepared to keep a 24-hour watch.
Learn to spell. Do they even teach that in school these days?
ReplyDeleteIs that like learn to code? ;-))

Grammar is racist misogyny.
ReplyDeleteSpell check is a fav and a curse. Anybody that does not have spell check turned on is lazy. Next problem is, with spell check on your personal skills of proper spelling degrade.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, screwed up spelling is my pet peeve in memes I agree with. I suspect trolls at Google, Bookface, etc. routinely change out spelling in memes that displease them.
