Zoom interview Wednesday for a contract position. Agency told me that the client is somewhat woke, but not too bad, and the work sounds interesting, and high paying. The first part of the interview was technical, asking if I knew how to move colored pixels around a screen. EZ-PZ. I don't dream about sleeping with beautiful women(my wife of 43 years is the most beautiful woman in the world to me), I dream about getting the NXSketcher all constraints confirmed message. The next part of the interview is discussing the company culture, how inclusive it is. Usual BS; BTDT. Lastly, the HR manager tells me that before I would be able to start, I will have to get the monkeypox vaccine, not to mention the regular kill shot. I told them that I am monogamous, and have been for 43 years. Doesn't matter to them. Requirement as of July 1st. I told them, thanks but no thanks. Click! Agency was blindsided on this; my rep wasn't told about the monkeypox shot requirement. I'm tired of being largely unemployed, but not at those costs.
I don't remember if I mentioned this before, but blood from uncontaminated donors might be in high demand soon. How about organs from unVAXXed donors? Time will tell, probably pretty soon.
At this point my only question is after the big die offs from the injections where do the rest of us go to re establish some sort of functional society? Best bet IMHO is one of the states with a lower injection rate such as Alabama or Mississippi.
Termite, they saw my medical records, which they(and most clients) require because I've had pneumonia twice, so I presume they saw the smallpox shot. It doesn't make a difference to them, and I've moved on from this submittal. They are having a lot of trouble getting people, despite the excellent rate. It is getting to the point that very few older workers are being hired for technical jobs, despite the need. There are some virtual engineering job fairs that are upfront about not wanting anyone over @45 or so to submit, and a lot of recruiters are telling older candidates not to bother.

Did not get and not sorry I didn't.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad I didn't get the clot-shot and am still a pureblood.
ReplyDeleteShot free here as well.

ReplyDeleteI am monogamous, and have been for 43 years...
ReplyDeleteIf you are that old, then you were vaxxed for small pox. Which is effective against monkey pox as well.
Did you point that out to them?

By definition, after the die offs, those of us left can pretty much go anywhere we want.
