Elisjsha Dicken, 22, Indianapolis area hero who blew the fuck out of Some Asshole whom he encountered calmly murdering food court diners in an Indiana mall, whereupon without hesitation, Dicken pushed his girlfriend* to safety, drew his Glock, charged the villain, and dumped multiple rounds into subject Asshole from as far as 40 yards away, hitting paydirt with 8 out of 10, instantly ending the killing spree, saving further court and prison costs, and making his target into a Permanently Good Asshole at a total cost of under $10 in ammo.
Hereby awarded the
OUTSTANDING MARKSMANSHIP AWARD, CIVILIAN DIVISION.
Should also receive a ticker tape parade, the keys to the city, and a check to reimburse him for ammunition expended from the local police department. In a just world, he should also get a full scholarship to the college of his choice from the state of Indiana, and a fast-track for any application to either any law enforcement academy, or the military service academy of his choice.
Nice shooting, kid. And congrats to your parents for raising you to be a fine American.
Well, said, Aesop!
ReplyDeleteNot highly publicized is that, technically, our guy wasn’t permitted to have a firearm in the mall per the posted signs in the mall. I don’t know if violating that policy would constitute a violation of the law in Indiana, but it would be awfully awkward if it did.
ReplyDeleteNope.
ReplyDeleteThe signs only signify that if asked to leave, you must depart.
No laws were broken.
This story from my hometown also happened over the weekend and it is another example of a citizen stopping a dangerous criminal.

And as Aesop stated above, saving the taxpayers thousands of dollars by ending the crime spree right there.
Thanks
There should be a Budweiser "Real American Heroes" commercial for this guy.
ReplyDeleteThe temperatures there are in the 90s. Why was the gurlfriend wearing a jacket?
ReplyDeletethey were in a mall... in my experience, they are air conditioned, which in womanthought is "chilly" or even "cold". And "girl" is spelled with an "i" not a "u". Is this part of you not knowing anything about females? Don't they teach you feds anything anymore? Shit.
DeleteOriginal Grandpa
Agreed. Media blackout on this story in three . . . two . . .
ReplyDelete@Anon 6:02,
ReplyDeleteYou've obviously got no life experience with the thermal comfort variance of females.
What an admirable couple! I wish I'd had my act together to that degree when I was 22 years old. Nicely done sir and miss!
ReplyDeleteNot a bad choice of song, Aesop.
ReplyDeleteMy choice would have been Bonnie Tyler's "I'm Holding Out for a Hero".
Something else: These two young people walked thru "The Valley of The Shadow of Death" together, and came out the other side.
I hope the experience forges a bond that lasts for 50 plus years.
I pray the young hero emerges on the other side of the coming shitstorm stronger and calm and well balanced.
ReplyDeleteKudos!
Huzzah! Huzzh!
ReplyDeleteI hereby offer them both adult beverages of their choice. Even if it has an umbrella in it.
Okay, time to 'fess up. How many of you [including me], are going to be setting up 50 yard targets at the next range session with our gut guns?
ReplyDelete"...and a fast-track for any application to either any law enforcement academy, or the military service academy of his choice."
ReplyDeleteUh, no, a thousand times no. First, the local branch of the Geheime Staatspolizie would do everything possible to strangle him with bureaucracy and render him as inefficient and ineffective as all their existing employees, and I haven't seen anything about the military lately that convinces me they deserve him, either.
We - the citizens - need people like him - and his GF - out in public, everyday, as a reminder of what we should aspire to.
News reports said the young hero neutralized the murderer 15 seconds after the murderer began and hit with 8 or of 10 shots. Don't know if the first shot "neutralized" the murderer or several or all 8 hits were needed. But info so far indicates excellent response time, accuracy, tactics, courage, and effectiveness.
ReplyDeleteUnlike UPD "To Neglect and Observe"
Spot on.
ReplyDelete@Everett,
ReplyDeleteThe Right abandoned culture two generations ago.
So tell us how that isolationism has worked out for ya, to date.
Getting him into either of those places is how you salt the culture to preserve it and undermine the woke narrative.
It ain't gonna subvert itself.
The ficus has to be on the decision/reaction time. then hits on target.
ReplyDeleteIn Uvalde, the LEO with the rifle radio'd for permission. Mr. Glock in Greenwood looked and decided on action. Good decision And then good shooting.
Sounded like a mag dump. If the target is still a threat, keep shooting.
In the first post, "ficus" should have been "focus".
ReplyDeleteThe mall owner/operator, Simon Property Group, has a large number of malls/properties. Apparently, they don't waste proft on armed security. Instead they "protect" their patrons with posted signs, essentially "Gun-Free Zone". Visit such property at your own risk. The "crazies" also know those rules.
The traditional phrase is, "Keep shooting until the target catches fire or changes shape". At the mall, the perpetrator was holding a rifle. Psychotic and/or drugged individuals can shrug-off minor, or even serious, injuries. As long as they are a threat (a weapon), KEEP SHOOTING.
In Ohio (as I recall), a masked moron fired a shot from a car at police. That indivdual stopped, bailed, and ran into the darkness, followed by a lot of police. After a brief chase, the fleeing perpetrator stopped and turned toward the Officers, with his hands near his body. The autopsy recorted 45 bullet wounds. As long as there is a threat, KEEP SHOOTING.
As noted, with private property, all they can do is ask you to leave. If they see it.
ReplyDeleteSo DA,DT. If you have to take it out, you've got bigger problems anyway.
Instead of putting up “gun free zone” signs, the mall could simply put up “crime free zone “ signs. They would be just as effective.
