And a member of the E. German Stassi. |
Somewhere on the internet (and I'm not telling you where, both out of sincere pity, and so as not to be seen kicking retarded kids) someone's analysis (and we use the word loosely) was that everything regarding the Ukrainian invasion was propaganda. Okay, tell us more? Because
"I don't believe Putin is either stupid or evil."
Which now leaves me solely with pity as my rationale for withholding the source quoted.
1) Putin rose to the rank of Podkolkóvnik (lieutenant colonel) in the KGB, which he belonged to from 1975 to 1991, and served mostly in East Germany. (Which makes him not literally Hitler; it makes him literally Heydrich, or Himmler. Let's be clear on that.)
2) He brutally repressed revolt in Chechenya, and seized and conquered the formerly independent Republic of Georgia, dragging it at literal gunpoint back into the Sov, er...Russian Federation.
3) There are videos beyond counting showing ordinary Ukrainian civilians walking up to fully functional tanks and APCs sitting abandoned in Ukraine after the initial invasion started last week, simply out of gas. This is not the work of geniuses.
"...not stupid or evil"???
[And btw, "believe" tells me about your religious principles. When we're actually thinking, we use the cleverly specific word "think".]
So what you're saying is, you aren't very smart, and have a religious objection to recognizing either the stupidity or evil of Putin, despite literal metric fucktons of contrary factual evidence.
Which clearly explains your own blindspot the size of Jupiter regarding your subsequent stupidity, and any analysis proceeding from same.
But at least we've identified the problem, which is more helpful than not. The first step to figuring out where you went off the cliff is to look down, and then backwards. So you've got that going for you.
Mind the rocks. Gravity works.
That Putin is both evil, and stupid, are settled questions. He's doubled down on both when it became apparent that he had seriously miscalculated with this invasion, both regarding his own prospects for accomplishing anything worth having, and the reaction of literally the entire world in response to his invasion.
"seized and conquered the formerly independent Republic of Georgia, dragging it at literal gunpoint back into the Sov, er...Russian Federation."
ReplyDeleteThis is literally not true. Two parts of Georgia, that had been given autonomy both under the Georgian constitution of 1921 and under the Soviet Union, broke away from Georgia and declared their independence after Georgia tried to remove that autonomy. South Ossetia declared it's independence in 1992. Abkhazia did the same in 1994. Both areas are populated by peoples other than ethnic Georgians. By 2008, the two break away republics and Georgia were involved in escalating conflict. Russia did invade to protect the two break away republics. This invasion started on August 8, 2008. By October 8, 2008 Russia had withdraw from Georgia and the buffer zone between Georgia and the two break away republics. As it stands now, Georgia is still independent of Russian control.
Was Russia's crushing of the Muslim terrorists infesting Chechnya really that much different than our invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq?
Honestly, I am an American nationalist. I don't GAF about either Russia or Ukraine. The US needs to mind it's own business like our Founding Fathers intended. Just another example of how all immigration has been bad for America and Americans.
A difference without a distinction.
ReplyDeleteWhen you march into territory formerly recognized as independent, you can call the Sudetenland Germany to "protect" it all you want, but it doesn't make it so.
Putin operates under 1937 rules when it suits him, which is an anachronism Europe will not tolerate at this point. It's about time. With Ukraine, he's bitten off more than he can chew, it's going to escalate (already has, in fact), and it's going to drag everyone else in, unless Putin is removed from the board.
I also haven't argued for any direct American intervention.
ReplyDeletePutin's pulling the entire world down on his own head, single-handedly, and long after he should have noticed the cleat marks in his dick were his own.
When a guy starts beating up a woman at a party, you try to hold him back. When he pulls a shotgun, and threatens everyone trying to intervene, a line has been crossed. At some point, you have to recognize the fact that he's out-of-his-right-mind crazy, loose, and armed.
After that point, it's time to put Old Yeller down.
You'd rather it be a family member who does it, but either way, it's got to happen.
Neither crazy and/or senile people nor giggling idiots should be allowed decisions about launching nuclear weapons.
ReplyDeleteIt's okay. Vox Day assured me on February 25 that Ukraine was "defeated" and that the war was over already. Also Jim's Blog informs me that the Russians are in full control of the roads (up to wherever they ran out of gas) so they have better control already than the US did in Iraq. And assorted commenters want me to know that, according to careful measurements of the speed of the Russian vehicles as they cross the border, we can extrapolate and calculate that full conquest of Ukraine won't take more than 20 days. And all sorts of white nationalists advocating for self-determination of their people and recognition of their right to national identity have educated me on how Ukraine isn't a nation and doesn't exist and can't be allowed to make any decisions for itself and won't fight anyway. And also that any Ukrainians who actually are fighting are doing it because they're terrified of globohomo, which is forcing them to do it at gunpoint.
ReplyDeleteI have certainly learned a lot in the past week.
My $.02 worth.
ReplyDeleteI think that the Russian generals are Russians first, and Putin's stooges second.
They also know what going nuclear means, even if it's just a few nukes that get exchanged each way.
There's also the Russian billionaires who just cannot be happy with the current state of financial affairs.
I think Putin will retire shortly; either voluntarily to his dacha and his hottie mistress, or involuntarily to a grave.
Yeah...we have a sociopath with delusions of royalty with his hand on one of the "buttons" and a pedophile with senile dementia in charge of another nuclear arsenal. One is playing a game of brinkmanship while the other has trouble reading from his teleprompter. Not a scene to allow for a good night's sleep.
ReplyDeleteAnother take on Ukraine:
ReplyDeleteUKRAINE: NO SMOKE WITHOUT FIRE
And Spartacus is back:
Spartacus Returns
Having just dealt with Spartacus' total bullshit secondhand on another thread, my advice is that if he/she/it is as jackassically ignorant on Ukraine as they are on COVID, whatever they say, go in completely the opposite direction, 180° out, and you'll be fine. To include the sky getting brighter after sunset, water flowing uphill, and shit tasting better than steak, if his COVID bloviations were anything to go by.
ReplyDeleteSmart people are more prone to Fatal Hubris than dumb people. And Putin has Fatal Hubris in spades.
ReplyDeleteThere is a subset of American Quislings and Tyranny Simps who have fanboi crushes on Tsar Putin, and wish that he and China would rise up and start a crusade to crush the WEF/NWO/ZOG Woke oppressors, and give them the power!!
The whole mess reminds me not of 1939, but of 1914. Spinning out of control is the last thing we want. If your analysis is correct, then won't Putin have (at best) another Afghanistan times Iraq problem that ties him up until he ceases consuming oxygen?
