Yeah. It would be amazing if the CCP didn't take advantage of this and try something...or several somethings. If Taiwan truly wants to stay independent they need to be capable of a truly devastating response to Beijing. And once that genie is let loose all bets are off.

DeleteChina has been running the Long Game quite successfully. For all the noise about Taiwan a lot of rich Industrial families intermarry between China and Taiwan.
ReplyDeleteI suspect once the US Umbrella of Taiwan's defense is shown to be a untrustworthy rag bag of bits and bobs (AND why not given Dear Poopypants is OWNED by China) Taiwan will become a Business acquisition between Chinese equals.
If you think China has us hurting with supply chain issues NOW, wait until the United China controls some 80% of the chip manufactory.
China is about business so is Taiwan, they are not likely to destroy the Golden Goose of the Modern World.
The chicom is NOT going to destroy Taiwan Semi - that's one (1) of two reasons for moving on them. TSMC = Holy Grail.
