As someone who has vacationed out in what is now known as the (Former) American Redoubt, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming & the eastern parts of The Peoples Republic of Oregon & Washington State during the winter, all I can say is this. That's my kind of place, that's my kind of adventure & that's my kind of dog. What a wonderful location to be in when the system ultimately collapses!
ReplyDeleteI agree that is an awesome picture until the dog shifts weight and dumps the canoe. I had a 120 pound roof hybrid that loved to go canoeing with me on some high mountain lakes in Wyoming. He never failed to see one of God’s creatures that he needed to go after and put us in the drink. I did lose an awful lot of firearms that way.😉
ReplyDeleteas a former Louisianian, you can have the swamps in spring, summer and early fall UNLESS you love hordes of stinging, biting insects, high heat, oppressive humidity and heat stroke.

ReplyDeleteThe solution is pretty simple folks. Southern red state in the winter (Florida or Texas), northern red state in the summer (Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, South Dakota.) The snow birds really do have it figured out.
ReplyDeleteVery nice. Of course, give me the swamps and bayous of Acadiana any day of the year the temperatures are above 60 degrees Fahrenheit.
ReplyDeleteI like the north. But I am certifiable so there is that. Yes the dog could tip the canoe and the water would be cold. Bigger boat would be perfect. Once you live near the water the size of the boat does not matter.
