1, 2, 3...

Phil over at Busted Nuckles reposted a cartoon.

It needed two more panels, so I helped out on it.

Gun buybacks.

So easy a caveman could do it.

  1. HA!
I had only ever seen that first panel, I didn't know the other two existed.

Now it's 3 times as awesome!
Thanks Aesop, now I can complete the set!

  2. Nicely done sir! Sadly it requires a citizen-serf population with cahones, which is questionable given current events. But time will tell, maybe folks are waking up?

  3. I combined it on Imgur for easy sharing.

  4. Check and check. And if it's so easy a cave man can do it, so can we.

  6. There was one comment on that Post of Phil's that I thought was amusing:
"Man, I hope they do some kind of buy back. I have some shitty old rifles that I wouldn’t trust to prop open the fridge door that I’d love to get top dollar for. Uncle Fed is the perfect stooge to take them off my hands for enough cash to fund a serious ammo purchase."(It's a nony comment or I would give attribution for it). I would not do that even if I found the opportunity, but it's an interesting thought.
And because it's pertinent here too, I'll copy my comment from that thread:
I’m not that concerned about HR127 either. But what is worrisome as a resident of the leftist utopia of Oregon, is the completely dominant lefty gummint here. The only weapon left for the few remaining “R” legislators is to walk out, attempting to deny a quorum, otherwise the libtards can pass anything they please, and Kommie Kate will sign it.
So, yes, if they pass blatantly unconstitutional anti-gun laws, there will be massive non-compliance out here in backwoods, redneck Oregon, but that won’t stop them from trying to make a few high profile prosecutions of their edicts. I know I’m on many lists, even with such trivial things as this sort of comment here. But I’m only one of many, many others of like mind, and if we’re no longer permitted to be left alone grey men, the blowback will be tremendous.
One of the few lobby organizations I support is OFF, and they keep me up to date on the shenanigans going on: https://www.oregonfirearms.org/we-are-running-out-of-time

  7. @Phil,

There weren't any other two, until about 1AM this morning.
    Just for you, buddy.

    @MattB,
Thanx. Spread them far and wide.
I'm hoping it sends the WaPo group into paroxysms and they stroke out when they see what I did with their little 'toon.

    1. The ammo is out there but damned expensive but what better way to pay than knowing half your money buyback or stimmy check came from the assholes.

  10. Aesop I am thrilled you rewrote a WaPo toon :-)

I'd say your NOW on a list but you and I are on many lists so....

Irish Democracy, where you disobey unless the guy with a gun it watching, then you do as little as you can Badly out of spite. :-)

Remember the tale of Gulliver's travels? How Gulliver was a GIANT but fell asleep and awoken snared by the little people. There's a lesson or three. Don't alert the Giant, lull him to snooze. If the little people were evil they might have blinded Him. He might have lost His Fingers and Toes. Might translate to something like Italy's annoying traffic cameras, Praetorians learning to respect Americans and Logistics getting messed up.

  11. Local estate sale auctions are now getting over $1/rnd for white box 9mm, no name 556, or any other basic pistol round. Steel case 762x39 is getting almost $1/rnd and headed past it soon. ANY hunting rifle round is going for more than $1 and "good" ammo like Critical Defense is bringing several dollars per round.

The demand is so great that old single boxes are being offered.

They are even selling the ammo equivalent of 'loosies', baggies of odd numbers of rounds.

Even weird stuff is selling, one auction has more than 1000 rounds of 762x25 in it... who TF shoots that? It's ~50c/rnd at the moment.

  12. Nothing pisses 'em off more than people in the parking lot giving MORE money for the guns than they can get inside the buyback... LOL

  13. At one of the local "Community Outreach" gun buy back programs they offered a $50 dollar gift card.
I set up a table next to them with a big sign that said "Good Guns will be purchased at $100 dollars CASH...OR MORE!!!!

Guess who was told they had to leave?

Gee, they proclaimed that they were doing this to make the community safer.
What could be safer than getting firearms into the hands and stewardship of Law Abiding American Citizens?

  14. Related, but OT: If memory serves, you had a great post on Range Cards. I don't remember how long ago it was, but it's worth reposting if you'd care to do so.

  15. Nice add. Gun "buybacks" have always irritated me. I did hear of some enterprising young men that made gun-looking things for a few bucks to turn in for a big profit. That made me smile.

  16. @DTG,

Request noted. I'll see if I can dig it up and re-post.
