Flash Traffic

Over the years, I've acquired an eclectic and esoteric collection of militaria, modern and vintage.

In the corner is one such piece, an old WWII vintage military teletype machine. I haven't even tried yet to see if it works, and jeez, it isn't even plugged in to anything.

So imagine my complete surprise when, Mirabile dictu!, a few minutes ago, it suddenly sprung to life, started churning, and spat out the following message:

I've got to say, that's the damned strangest curiosity I've ever encountered.

Reading it sort of sends the hairs up on the back of my neck.

I wonder what it means...?

Enjoy what follows from today. You now officially live in interesting times.

Even odds, if I had a scanner turned to the right frequency, I'd hear this on the radio too:

  2. Actually, your Die Hard analogies are quite accurate.
Creeping in the shadows, wreaking havoc, then back to the ductwork only to pop up in a different location and case a bit more mayhem, then down a floor or 2.

Rinse and repeat until you can't anymore.

Nibble here, bite there, tiny cut here, pretty soon you are talking serious damage.

  5. Oh Aesop, how cruel you are. I ACTUALLY wondered for about ten seconds if this massively desired start of SOMETHING could actually be true.... Then my brain took over for my heart and {sigh}... okay. Back to sad waiting and watching...
