Sunday Music: What A Fool Believes
Sherman, set the Wayback Machine for this chart-climbing Number 1 hit for the Doobie Bothers in the spring of 1979, and a cautionary tale about the problem of wishful thinking, written by Michael McDonald and Kenny Loggins.
Heh. I was working at a campus radio station then. Got chewed out by the program manager for playing this as it was a number one hit on the commercial Frat-boy party station.
My defense was that I don't listen to that station and didn't know what they played, but this was the Doobie Brothers, didn't care who else played it.
Shortly after that station's to 10 list was posted in our DJ booth marked as a "DO NOT PLAY" list.
