Newsflash, Pollos

(MORDOR) President Trump signed a proclamation late Wednesday ordering National Guard troops be sent to the U.S.-Mexico border to address a “surge of illegal activity.”
In a memo to Defense Secretary James Mattis and Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen.
Trump ordered the National Guard be used to secure the border “to stop the flow of deadly drugs and other contraband, gang members and other criminals, and illegal aliens into this country.”
Trump also asked Mattis and Nielsen to submit reports within 30 days detailing what other resources are needed at the border.

Sometimes, the President's Queens-accented English can be hard for non-English speakers to decipher.

  1. I love Ann as much as the next guy but sometimes I could effing throttle her.

This move by the President has got the REgressives buying duct tape by the case. I love it. And the message it's sending is a 180 from the bullshit that Obama spewed. Some how I think the days of us seeing s string of boxcars with potential illegals pasted all over them and heading our way are over for the foreseeable future.

  2. The NG will NOT be involved in apprehensions. They will be doing back-up work and not on the line.

  3. Lets hope they do try and cross the border, and we get to kill some of them.
They need to get the message.

I was wondering what the law was if foreign invaders are detained by the military. Do they get the same treatment as if captured by border patrol?
Be nice if we could throw them all in a detention camp right away for two years before kicking their ass back to Messico, just like they do down there.

And after the new rules of engagement have been set, we can kick off the Spic and Span project and start deporting illegals wholesale.

  4. Unfortunately he used Title 32, which can be declined by a Governor, and the Oregon Governor has already declined (if "asked")

If he uses Title 10 then it is an order: 10 U.S. Code § 12406 - the President may call into Federal service members and units of the National Guard of any State in such numbers as he considers necessary...Orders for these purposes shall be issued through the governors of the States.

  5. Besides the winning, what I'm loving is these idiots keep throwing the President soft pitches thinking he'll hit them too hard.

"Am I over the top yet?"

No Mister President, keep swinging for the fence.

True. On the other hand that frees up more sworn BP officers that can make arrests.

And some Mexican army types moonlighting to escort cartel shipments might find out the hard way that they aren't that intimidating to units that probably have s good percentage of folks who got their chops facing down AQ, ISIS, Taliban....

After looking into the legal aspects, it's become perfectly clear Trump can deploy troops on the border without any congressional approval whatsoever.
    National Guard is a non-factor.

I think Jerry Brown crapped himself this morning.
