Badged pants-wetters execute innocent homeowner because they were stupid. And homicidal.
This. Just This. Only This.
I have a great respect for the police I grew up around. That would be damned few of you currently practicing, and it grows fewer and fewer every time one of these incidents crops up. Which, lately, is becoming weekly, if not daily.
If your prime directive is to get home and cash your checks, you're not a police officer, you're just a selfish whore. And should be regarded as exactly such. Stings, don't it?
When you'd rather blow away ten innocent victims than risk one hair on your star-bellied Sneetch @$$hole, you're the f**king problem, not the solution, and I hope you die gut-shot by the side of the road crying for your momma, and I get to watch it on YouTube.
You were sick the day in the academy they covered the job description, and we don't need you. Never did, in fact.
Do your jobs, by the letter and spirit of the law. Start by obeying it. For a vast swath of you with badges, that'll be a novel approach, but give it a shot; it worked for decades before killing your way home to supper on the backs of innocent people in the wrong place at the wrong time became SOP.
Truck drivers and oil workers have deadlier occupations, and they don't get to kill anyone who looks at them funny, or makes a sudden movement.
Yes, I want you to be safe, and I recognize from experience and video evidence how quickly things turn pear-shaped on the streets.
You knew the job was tough when you took it. You don't get to cut corners by killing everyone pro-actively because it saves you the trouble of using judgment and reasoning before you go to guns.
If it's too hard to do that, GTFO, and go deliver pizzas. The tips are better, and people seldom curse you out when you knock on their door. As a bonus, it's probably a better IQ fit for many of you.
Be safe, certainly. But not to the point of killing everyone because you were too stupid to wait before applying a couple of pounds of trigger pull to kill an unarmed person too unlucky, too stupid, too drunk, or any combination, to comply with the fourteen 'roided up douchebadges all yelling at him simultaneously over leveled carbines.
BS like this is why they didn't used to let you knuckleheads have rifles.
I'm thinking it's time you were all forced to patrol without any guns at all.
(You pull that Wichita SWATing dumbshittery some places, and the body count tally will be far less one-sided. It's going to be a party-bus crowd. Fair warning: they'll fight dirty, and the red flag will be raised - no quarter given. There won't be any Waco time-outs to gather your wounded either. You might want to try coming up and knocking on the door, to talk like men, and save yourselves a load of embarrassment and bullets in your ass. Just saying. Take your pick.)
That's not all of you, and I'm painting with a wide brush. I know that.
Boo fucking hoo.
You earned every bit of that broad brush, when you failed - ten thousand times - to fire, and refer for immediate prosecution, every silly jackass caught in flagrante on the job, by our cameras and your own.
Qui tacet consentit.
Look it up. You don't just get to be the Blue Crew when you're doing good; when you cover for your thugs, crooks, and morons, you become legally and morally accomplices after the fact, and deserve the same opprobrium they do.
Start delivering their heads on platters metaphorically, or get used to someone else taking the opportunity to volunteer any or all of you to hand them over literally. For no reason, and ten thousand reasons, with illustrative videos to back them up, going back decades, in every city, town, and county.
People are turning, are you're the rabid dogs in this morality play.
Rabid dogs get put down.
So either clean up your collective act, quit, or settle your affairs.
Note that there is no other choice there.
Right now it's "a few bad apples" (See what I did there?) who'll be hunting you, along with every actual crook you meet like it's always been.
But every time we see another bunch of sub-literate prehensile-tailed douchebadges blow away another unarmed guy for not sufficiently respecting your authoritay, the more people start figuring that could, and someday will, be they themselves.
And the minute the tipping point is reached, they're going to start fragging you as a threat to their life and livelihood, on sight, simply for existing.
And no one else is going to give a damn whether you were guilty or innocent anymore.
Just like most of you seem to feel about most of us, time after time after time.
Funny how what goes around, comes around. But when you're the next platter's serving, you probably won't be laughing.
Everyone else will be, though.
Tell me how much fun that day will be, and ponder that we can trade you one for one, and run out of all of you centuries before we run out of all of us.
The sooner y'all start turning this around, and re-earning the community's respect, the shorter the time until you won't have to worry about catching a round in the back while you're eating a sammich.
Your call.
When you make yourself an outlaw, you are entirely beyond the law's protection, and have no right to expect it to pay you any further consideration.
Good comment. The only flaw is your take on job description.
ReplyDeleteIn fact, getting home safely is the primary, perhaps only directive and has been for decades. Even coded in law. Courts have long held that law enforcement has no duty to serve and protect.
As to agreeing with your proposition of armed revolt, I'll pass if only to avoid some future incident being shown to be premeditated.
There will come a time though when SWAT learns that crossfire, 30 cal. and getting home is a real tough nut to crack
BTW,
ReplyDeleteThe first thing a SWAT team does, according to a relative who's in one, is deploy an over watch sniper. Kinda takes the fun out of going all Allah Akbar on the guys at the front door.
There is a difference between how police and deputy sheriff comport themselves. Chiefs of police are political appointees and that colors the entire department - they report to politicians. A sheriff is an elected official who reports to his constituents. In my experience police departments lean left whilst sheriff departments are conservative. With that preface, it would be interesting to run an analysis on police shootings for (say) the past 10 years and break it out by type of LEO. I suspect you'd discover the vast majority of questionable shootings were by city police or staties with deputies showing the most discretion and restraint
ReplyDeleteGiven that in my locale we just had a Deputy killed - and possibly two bystanders- when it doesn't look from the available information that ANYBODY needed to do an entry ( bad guy alone) I'm m rethinking my previous agreement to " Deputies showing discretion and restraint". Many SO's are now primarily urban/suburban in their AOs. The County next to the the one suffering the loss recently shot the shit out of an occupied vehicle for NO cause I can see.

@loren
ReplyDeleteSnipers worked both ways.
Police don't generally get to do recon by fire into darkened houses.
Homeowners being threatened with death just for being there really don't have a helluva lot left to lose.
Whether black and whites are more bullet-resistant than houses is about to be put to a serious test.
Anon @ 7:17
ReplyDeleteThe useless prick we call sheriff refused to even look into a pedophile deputy in his dept. His exact words were, "that's the best thing that ever happened to her". Boy do I respect him! NOT! I laid down a smear campaign & went to the city council & ran his ass out of town. I despise all pigs & refuse to interact with any of them.
Perhaps not entirely clear on the comment @ 5:02 He deputy was part time but the perv. was full time chief in our town. F-- all cops!
ReplyDeleteMy Dad was a Hoboken, NJ cop back before World War II (before he joined Uncle Sam's Misguided Children). One thing he told me that stuck with me, the cop's official, uniform pants had a little pocket sewn into the seam on the leg, the purpose of which was to carry a switchblade to be thrown down in the even he shot someone he shouldn't have. Yes, I know it's really a sap pocket, but Dad believed, and every cop he knew treated it as fact, that it was there specifically to carry a throw-down weapon to get away with shooting someone. Did I mention that the pocket was designed into their public-supplied trousers?

It does little good to look at this through the old paradigm. The new reality is the nation state is failing and in many places the LEO's are the military. They are fighting a war, they are NOT peace officers. If your cops act badly in your AO, you are living in a war zone and you need to move. This behavior will follow you but at least it buys you time. What do you think guerrilla warfare is supposed to look like?
ReplyDeleteHave no idea how a jury let this piece of human waste off the hook. Mike Savage did a segment about this murder on his show
ReplyDeleteThe key statement that cops need to take from this:
ReplyDelete"People are turning..."
A simple solution. Don't let everyone talk at once, have a designated talker to give the "get on the ground, hands on your head" type orders, or DNT be a cop.
ReplyDeleteOne more thing though on reflection.
ReplyDeleteYeah bein a copper is not statistically more dangerous than being an EMT or a truck driver - and again statistically LESS dangerous than logging - I gotta remember that so far nobody's targeting people who wear scrubs and I have yet to see mobs of assholes being led chanting about killing loggers or truck drivers.
Let's all take a breath of two and keep focused on our real enemies.
Boat Guy
And why is it, d'ya suppose, that no one's chanting about killing loggers or truck drivers?
ReplyDeleteThe police in this country have spent decades, and no small amount of deliberate, conscious effort, earning the hate they now get, whether committing the crimes they do, or simply reflexively covering up for their crooked and homicidal blue buddies, and the recent availability of cameras on every scene makes how they act exponentially harder to deny. In short, there's been no swift and certain cost; the puppy hasn't felt the newspaper across the nose enough to drive the point home.
Unless one chooses to think that before cameras, they behaved much better than they do now.
Corruption and incompetence are nothing new for law enforcement, as any fan of Robin Hood or Shakespeare could tell you. It's a centuries' old problem.
But the brazenness of it now, despite the certainty that it can be and has been uploaded to the internet same-day is what's turned people off in droves.
Good, honest cops do exist. They don't worry me. But that they're such a small, impotent fraction of the total in so many places does. And we're about a million examples beyond the point where the "few bad apples" defense cuts any ice.
Their only choice, at this point, is for them to start collecting the scalps of the bad cops, or wait until they all start getting collected by everyone else.
I don't see them being given a lot of time in this society to decide which way they're going to jump: tick tock.
One way or the other, heads will roll.
The only question is whether it'll be most of them, or all of them.
I don't foresee a third option.
More's the pity that they ever let it get to this point.
But at some point, you either amputate a limb to save the life, or you watch the entire body die from the infection.
If even 1% of the legal firearms owners in this country decide on any given day that the police have got to go, they're gone after the first volley. There's a reason we've had committees of vigilance in this country in the past, and I fear they're going to make a comeback in the near future.
I would wish it were otherwise were it within my power to change, but you can't teach people who refuse to learn, so I think it's got to happen. And will. Whether we're talking Pharoah and the Hebrew slaves, or an immobile plow mule, intractable stubbornness always requires that you first get the attention of the jackass(es) in question.
"And how we burned in the camps later, thinking: What would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good-bye to his family? Or if, during periods of mass arrests, as for example in Leningrad, when they arrested a quarter of the entire city, people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling with terror at every bang of the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing left to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand?... The Organs would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers and transport and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt!
If...if...We didn't love freedom enough. And even more – we had no awareness of the real situation.... We purely and simply deserved everything that happened afterward." - Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, The Gulag Archipelago
Well put.
ReplyDeleteWhat I don't want to do is to alienate those good folks (many of whom are no longer on the job) who did a crappy job well, didn't take the piso, got crapped on by the system and still leaned into the pain and did some good.
Like you I fear it is gonna happen.I gotta say if the election last year had gone as I thought it would I suspect that things would already be at a kinetic stage. In a county to our north a guy apparently decided to go down gunsablazin - and he had some cause to detest and fear at least two cops. Thing is, NEITRHER of those cops were the one he killed.
As has been said before; once the genie is out of the bottle there's no controlling what happens next. I'm just hoping that there's some target discrimination going on; - perhaps IF the Wichita guy actually pays a legitimate cost for his action or perhaps if the LEO community writ large were to post the Mesa guy as a pariah there might be enough good faith to avert or delay what would be a very bad thing.
You quote Solzhenitsyn, I leave you with Aaron Zelman (RIP)
"If very Jewish family had had a Mauser rifle, twenty rounds of ammunition and the will to use them Adolf Hitler would be a mere footnote in the history of the Weimar Republic"
