It's near-worthless on many things except as an historical reference.

The Special Operations Forces Medical Handbook was the 2001 state-of-the-medical-art upgrade. The price for the reprinted versions of the 1st and 2nd eds. on Amazon currently is near-identical, at about $24/copy in paperback.

If you opt for the ring-bound version of the 2nd ed., which is updated after 7 years of Iraq and A-stan combat experience from the 1st ed., it's $80, printed in 3-punch small format, on water- and tear-resistant paper, for field use. (Beware, as the Amazon seller has occasionally slipped in sub-par facsimiles into their shipments, judging by Amazon reviews).
You can get the real deal from the Government Printing Office for a similar price, or as a CD-ROM for $6 and change.

When last I looked, neither the 1st nor 2nd ed. of SOFMH were available online as pdfs. More's the pity.
Aesophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07834464741531503378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-714028479313834812.post-85874180265324389912017-04-22T15:45:41.785-07:002017-04-22T15:45:41.785-07:00What is the difference between the special forces ...What is the difference between the special forces medical handbook and the 2nd edition? the prices are very different..Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
