Kids, listen to an old man--always go to the concerts you want. Spend the money and the time. Piss off whoever needs pissing off to free up either or both. Because someday, you won't be able to go see them in concert. The Freeholderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09989697995675652792noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-714028479313834812.post-24469470582351522572022-12-02T08:31:36.728-08:002022-12-02T08:31:36.728-08:00Gotcha Brother; don't disagree on the impact o...Gotcha Brother; don't disagree on the impact of Buckingham/Nicks, that FM album knocked me out when it was released, but I had been a fan and all-around audiophile before that.
Based on our Boot Camp CINC's I've got about a decade on you and so was pretty familiar with most of the British Blues stuff. Based on that, I thought FM was a great band in all of their iterations, regardless of the charts. I can blast "I'm So Afraid" and "The Green Mamilishi" with equal enthusiasm.
Boat GuyAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-714028479313834812.post-3442394711222391932022-12-02T07:48:15.240-08:002022-12-02T07:48:15.240-08:00if you heard her sing, you know what angels sound ...if you heard her sing, you know what angels sound likeAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-714028479313834812.post-14946036013707073962022-12-01T21:38:22.712-08:002022-12-01T21:38:22.712-08:00She was amazing. But the addition of Buckingham and Nicks at the end of '74 took FM to worldwide superstardom. They charted 25 times on the Billboard 100, and the highest they ever got before 1975 was one time in 1970 at #55. They were no-hit wonders.

After that, 24 times.

The band is a testament to the synergy that can be created by the right people, and Christine
unquestionably helped get them to the top peak.Aesophttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07834464741531503378noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-714028479313834812.post-64464866047199753432022-12-01T18:37:14.744-08:002022-12-01T18:37:14.744-08:00Christine made far more of an impact on what was a...Christine made far more of an impact on what was a British Blues band, than Stevie and Lindsey ever did. She set the tone of something new and good. Bob Welch and Danny Kirwan came on about the same time and helped change the sound (and then left) but Christine made all the difference. That song 'Everywhere' for that Chevy EV electric car commercial is one of my wife's current favorites - she will stop what she is doing and listen to it. 79 is a good long life and I hope she didn't suffer when it came down to final hours. Christine McVie will be missed by many, myself included.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
