  1. He was in highschool then. A year ahead of my oldest brother. An amazing talent. Great song.

  2. I love that song. I don't play any instruments, but I've long wanted to learn to play the banjo, just to play that song with a banjo as the lead instrument (no, not clawhammer or any other bluegrass style, just with a banjo played the way the guitar is on that tune).
Yes, I already know I'm weird.

  3. Fall of 72 was in RVN getting ready to do some "Dirty Work"...I could not "Buy a Thrill", so I had to reel in the years and "Do it Again".

  4. Another fine selection.

This was a favorite of my Dorm crown even after we graduated.

However, not so much the girlfriend of the one of the guys, named Amy. She could be sure of a drunken serenade by a bunch of guys that couldn't sing when this came on the jukebox.

  5. Beg to differ, Brother; "Two Lane Highway" is at least as good. Great rocking, driving song

    1. Concur. And their live album "Takin' the Stage" is replete with good stuff. 'Amie' got me to pick up a mandolin for awhile.

  6. Great song, very mellow. Got introduced to it much later than when it was a single . . . :)

  7. Amie and Moonlight feels right by Starbuck were probably my two favorite songs in the Seventies. Especially loved the xylophone solo in the latter.

  8. "Amie" has always been one of those songs that when I hear it I have to go back and listen to the entire album.

  9. I was 22 and working high steel as a crane operator . Rode my ten speed 15 miles each way usually stoned , drunk , or both . It was a mistake to pick on a wiry red headed boy 300 feet up in the air . My first question was " Wanna buy a parachute " ?
