WTFBlisteringF...??? Case # 10,421

Link

Somali-born Minneapolis cop shoots unarmed 40-year old white woman through the police vehicle door, from the passenger side, while she was talking to his partner. She was in her pajamas, and was talking to the driver-side officer through the window about the 911 home intruder report she'd made earlier by telephone, when she was shot dead by the cop in the passenger seat, who fired across his partner, without a whit of explanation! No, really.

Victim and murderer:

"No explanation" by Minnie cops. Both cops' bodycams were conveniently turned off when the shooting occurred. Color me shocked. (After all, you can only fit 16+ hours of non-stop 1080p video and sound on a chip the size of a nickel nowadays, so why let it run continuously for an 8-12 hour shift, every day, right?) So it's all down to he-said/she's dead.
Oh, and no points for guessing the shooter's first name.

Unf***ingbelieveable.

Apparently, all interactions with police now require that you be armed, weapon drawn, and wearing body armor. Ideally, from behind cover.
Challenge accepted.

And despite any number of "good" officers out there, the "one rotten apple" defense cuts no more ice with anyone any more; it's all played out after the first 10,000 deployments. If the chief doesn't get way out ahead of this in short order, he's just retired, whether he knows it or not. I sincerely hope MPD loses a few dozen officers to this by way of payback, unless they hang this badged @$$hole out to dry, and he goes down for murder two, in about 48 hours. In fact, if they don't do that, they should all either quit, or just kill themselves, and save time.

Apparently, Team Blue thought Dallas was just an aberration.
Hope ain't a plan, boys and girls. There will be an accounting, and "just following orders" as a defense, expired about 71 years ago.

As to motive...?

Just more random "workplace violence," obviously.
What with cops being taken out by unarmed middle-aged women in their pajamas every day, I can totally see how this is just pure coincidence.

Whether this was another case of Sudden Jihadi Syndrome, or Murder Under Color Of Authority, or a little bit of both, the best cure is a tree, a rope, and a suitably motivated mob.
Within hours, if they can't book the guy and arraign him by noon today.
(TPTB have jack and shit by way of explanation for shooting the person reporting the crime on the street, in her pajamas, whilst completely defenseless. That's an execution, and justice merits one in response.)

This stuff isn't going to stay tamped down, and the backsplatter's going to get ugly, fast.
When Whitey throws a riot, continents get burned down.

  1. The bad apple metaphor is actually quite vibrant for its lack of diversity. It originated when One Man said "Do not deceived (and it means self-deceived) “Bad company corrupts good morals.”

Have you ever seen a good apple turn a bushel of bad ones into good ones. Not hardly. ain't gonna happen.

The problem is, we (speaking of the imperial we) are being misled, both by liars and the self-deceived. Oh, and I love that word "radical". It really means the root or foundation principle. Those who are being "radicalized" are just getting closer to the original premises.

  2. Must have had his Al-Shabaab training kick in when faced with insufficient respect for his authoritah.

It's nice that they are finally buying $50 body cams to go along with their $1000 "patrol carbines" and backwards eotechs. Of course they keep them turned off, but that should be considered implied admission of guilt in any felony conduct while on duty.

  3. Well,at least the cop went home safe at the end if his shift, that's what's important. He was obviously in fear for his safety.

There was an incident not long ago where cops arrested someone, had him on the ground in cuffs, then proceeded to beat the snot out of him. Comments that the officers had gone a tad far were answered with "He'd just led them on a high-speed pursuit thru residential areas". Tough toenails, cops don't punish crimes, they apprehend alleged criminals. Once he's cuffed, on the ground, and compliant the ONLY job of the cops is to stuff him in the car and deliver him to the place where they can begin their stroll thru the criminal justice system. Doesn't matter how non-compliant he was previously.

Dave? Rick? No, it's a trick question, right? Elmer!

Does anyone seriously think that anything will happen to Mo' Light? He's a multi-category diversity bean. The WaPo already has an appalling article (dateline 18 JUL 2017) over fears of the dreaded backlash. I quote:

[Noor] was the first Somali American officer to serve in Minneapolis’s fifth precinct [...]. His presence on the squad brought Somali activists some pride and reassurance at a time of Islamophobia in America and nationwide racial tension stoked in part by shootings of black people by white police officers.

Now that same Somali community is bracing for a backlash against Noor that has already begun.

    [...]
Officials have not publicly confirmed the officer’s name.

    [but ...]
“There is no question that he is the officer,” Somali activist Omar Jamal told The Post. “We knew this right after the shooting, but we didn’t want to release the name.”
[*remember this quote when you read the following]

The report stoked fear among Somalis in the Twin Cities, who have worked for decades to become part of the city’s fabric. [...] But the largely Muslim population of Somali Americans in the region still face Islamophobia and innuendo about terrorism.

“They fear this will be just another event used to create animosity toward the Somali community,” Mohamud Noor [unrelated], executive director at the Confederation of Somali Community in Minnesota."

"Worked for decades to become part of the city's fabric." Yeah, the community spirit just shines through when you're more concerned about image, "Islamophobia" and protecting your sacred victimhood status than the fact that an innocent woman was unlawfully and unnecessarily killed by an idiot or criminal (nota bene this is not a logical XOR; likely to be both) with a badge. Who quite possibly got that badge through multiple-front affirmative action leverage.

    1. Hey Mike...nice to see you here at Aesop's place. Pity it's about such a terrible event.

      Cheers from Oz

  5. This will be whitewashed. First of all, the 'police chief' is a lesbian who is faux-married to her lesbian partner. She is likely a leftist. And almost assuredly she is not qualifed to be chief of police of even a small town police department, let alone chief of a major metro P.D.

The shooter had already lawyered up by the very next morning. And his partner is observing the code of Omerta. I can already hear it now : "She was very agitated. She was holding something in her hand, it looked like a small automatic. When she appeared to point it at my partner I feared for his life and mine, and I reacted. It all happened so fast."

He will skate. I doubt that he will even lose his job. Instead he will be given a long taxpayer funded vacation with full pay and benefits. The police department will defend him, because to acknowledge his guilt would open them up to a slam dunk judgement in the tens of millions of dollars to the murder victim's family. And when her family does sue for wrongful death, the department will eventually settle out of court for a fraction of the amount they would be looking as if they admitted culpability. And of course, taxpayer funds will be used to pay the settlement.

And naturally, the diversity-minded lesbian police chief will never admit that hiring Somalian muslim skinnies to police a largely WASP population is maybe not such a good idea after all. Instead she will likely double down and say we still don't have enough third-world ethnic minority muslim migrants on the force.

  6. George, if they try that nonsense at this stage of things, I fully expect certain people there will make a point of publicly executing the guy, and anyone else they can.

The time for trying plausible deniability games and legal dodges is past. This went international worldwide in hours.

Justice is going to roll, and if that means heads will too, I pity those trying to play peacemaker. If TPTB don't have a come-to-Jesus moment, it's going to be a long, hot summer there.

  7. And they are surprised when I say "If you come around my hacienda, and shoot at my dogs, you'd better bring your A-game, and pack a lunch, because one of us is about to have a really long day! There aren't 50 people in the world that I'd trade for my dogs, and none of them are LEOs."

And they'd better bear in mind that my neighbor across the road is of the same mind, and he's in a great position for flanking fire.
